I knew your story because I have heard it before, but today it validated my own heart. I am a survivor of domestic violence - finally, 17 years ago I got away from my ex, but there's not a day goes by I still have feelings of fear when I am near a man. At a gas station or a grocery store, or ballgame, when a man is in the vicinity I get tense and guarded. I hate this and know I'm free but I can't trust men at all.

That was such an awesome testimony and expresses the love, mercy, and power of God. LISTEN!! I have been a Christian for about 15 years now and quite knowledgeable theologically, yet did not understand exactly what God's purpose was in creating us knowing that we'd be so wicked. Upon hearing Mr. McDowell expound on the "passion" of God for His people, the light came on. I know how wonderful it is to be loved, most of us do. There is also great joy in showing love. God created us so we can love each other. ALL of us. A family. He is our Father. Not just a title given by a religious edict or something. It is a truth, a relationship, a magnificent relationship of true love. Praise God! Love will abide forever because God is love and He is eternal.

Mr. Josh McDowell, is thoughtful, a man sincerely seeking the truth. When he came to the conclusion that Jesus is true, logically, on the basis of the knowledge of the history of Christianity and the Church, one will conclude who teaches the truth. I am very sorry that you have had abuse in your life. It hurts and I hate that for you. At the same time, it has illustrated my problems with Christianity. If your view were true, an omniscient being knew that was going to happen, and chose to not stop it. That's why we shouldn't swear on the Bible. A man of your age may have grandkids. Would you stop that from happening to your grandkids, or would you file that away under "God's plan?" For the record, I bet you would stop it, and I truly hope you or anybody else is never in that position. That's evil. Your whole idea about intolerance, while Biblical correct, is inherently evil and hypocritical. No wonder they let you speak at Liberty University. Stephen Bassette I never said that morality doesn't exist. In my first post I used the words good and evil. Then, Alex built this strawman argument of "who are you....subjective morality." Most people that write like that believe God is the giver of morality. Then I explained some of the many immoral acts he committed. I think most things that we find moral have to do with social contracts. Please tell me why you feel your God is so moral when proof of his murdering, misogyny, endorsement of slavery is in print in the Bible. All of that stuff is wrong, unless God does it, b/c then it is okay. That doesn't make any sense to me.
