My testimony about forgiving my father is the same as Josh's. I was counseled by an older Christian to choose with an act of my will to forgive my Dad. I did. It was the hardest thing I ever did. That event changed my father's life and he came to Christ at the age of 79. But, and, this is a BIG BUT - it transformed me! Thank you Josh for sharing your testimony so boĺdly! May Jesus be the glorified and the Holy Spirit be the After-Preacher of this testimony.

Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years? The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. In this world, the great fertility of atheism can be explained by the fact that there is no main opponent of critics of the Bible - the Church. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist. Find *"The Mystery about the Church of Christ"* video on KZbin, which shows the real causes of Christian sects and atheism. The video reveals a prophecy about the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the end of the world. Watching this video will bring joy to all who sincerely seek God and will interest those who are not too lazy to think freely. Click on my name to watch the video (The video is in Russian, but English subtitles are included).

How does this story reflect skepticism? He talks for 4 vague minutes about researching the bible and the rest is about his tragic life.

Josh McDowell was never a skeptic. 11 year old boys who "just want to die" will make irrational decisions and accept beliefs without thinking critically and considering all of the evidence. Skepticism and rationality are a skill that must be learned and usually are not developed in people until the mid to late 20's, if ever at all. Religion is like a comfort blanket, not an objective truth. It's pretty clear when you read Josh McDowell's work.

its obvious that you are a true skeptic than? You think to much of yourself i guess. Skepticism isnt just a skill its a lack of trust ( in the unseen). But this can be said for sure, Mr. Dowell saw the Evil. So he saw the Light. Therefore he made a decision. You need Trust and a brave Heart to be faithful in Christ but its so easy to be skeptic so everybody can do it. Nothing special about it. Try to Beleive and then we see whos the real deal.

He was a skeptic about God, you have a limited definition of skepticism which isn't even based on the dictionary. It's doubting the truth of something. There is no definite process that need occur for a person to resolve their skepticism to belief. You can argue they lack sufficient evidence for their belief but as far as I know there are no overarching rules on when any individual can go from skeptical of something to believing.

He is very good with objective truth may you should read his book before you make a decision.. Be truthful to yourself the worst deception ever is when you deceive yourself. Did you read one book, not video book of his?

Why is it that someone must believe in non sense to make sense of the World?
@jamwisme129
@jamwisme129 4 жыл бұрын
Why is it that unbelievers try to make sense out of nonsense? Your words are truely rude and infantile in comparising to what Mr.Dowell just said about his life. You have no Heart. But lets forgive you cause that would Mr. Dowell do. And especially Jesus. He died for you. Wouldnt you want to know the person who dies for you?

@1993supercoupe - to be fair, most of us probably believe some nonsense. The only thing we can do is try and get our nonsense to line up with reality as close as possible. It'll always be a BIT of a shot in the dark - so you kind of have to decide which odds you're willing to gamble on. That's my thinking, anyway. I observe all kinds of absurdities in atheism and other faiths too. All we can do is line ourselves up with the truth as best as we're able...
