Really appreciate all the support everyone helps me buy things like this to give honest reviews for you. If you have anything else you want me to explore let me know. 🤙🏻 I think this ledge is cool but maybe the price is just set at “cool kids only” right now and maybe it it come down. If it was near 100-200 bucks it would be a no brainer for me and I’d be a lot less worried. 😅

As someone without a portaledge, I would have liked to seen maybe a side by side between the G7 and a traditional portaledge both packed up and set up, how belaying from the ledge feels comparing the two, and doing stuff like side by side gear swaps. I don't think I'm getting a portaledge anytime soon, but they all cost around the same

If it gets a puncture just put some seam sealant on the hole! Once I discovered seam sealant, inflatable things went from looking fragile, to looking easily repairable! With that in the toolbelt, the only thing you're really worried about durability wise is the material getting worn and weakend over a large area (like when the seat of your trousers get so worn if you try and repair a hole a new one will just open up next to it), or some kind of delamination issue (my exped megamat ended up with a massive blister under the material which was impossible to repair)..

Couldn’t you extend the outside edge with a second locker like people do with their haul bag?

Blowing air into the bag is just to puff it up so it's bigger and contains more air due to the shape. Nothing fancy going on!

My biggest concern is the rain fly getting shredded against the wall in a real storm. They need to fix that before I spend $1,000… 🙄. Fix it!! I want one! Lol

It must be adjustable. If not that’s terrible Edit: I just watched there video and it is adjustable. I guess the rings say 0kn so people don’t do silly things like belay from those little rings or clip there personal anchor to it. Also shows people standing and jumping on it

Right. Could always add another locker.

For 800 bucks that thing is a HARD pass.. Seems like it is only for a few specific times/places/climbers. Too niche

I would personally deal with extra weight if it means longevity! Great idea but they need to reduce the price to make it worth while!

Its no different then the old style air mattress with a couple lugs sewn on and some straps. 700$ is a bit much $300 is a bit much.
