Been listening to this over and over and come to the conclusion that Freddy King must have been a big influence on both of these guys. The perfect interaction between them is awesome. Fast becoming a favorite. The more someone throws at Gales the better he gets. A bottomless well of riffs. Thanks for sharing.

They are both amazing. Think Josh has been playing since he was 6yrs old... I have been following him for a while... And Eric is amazing as always. I would have loved to have been there.

There is still a person in this world who is not able to appreciate two virtuosos blues trading licks on a 12 bar blues.

Josh and Eric are both absolute masters. They both make it look so effortless, they're both so unique in their soloing style yet they compliment one another perfectly. They play off of each other so perfectly and they're both such a joy to watch. When two masters can get on stage and play for the song itself and not to impress others, the results are purely magical.

My only problem with some of these GREAT bluesmen is they occasionally forget sometimes less is more. That is what Hendrix said and SRV practiced. Still a mind blowing performance

Oh Eric's sitting because he has no guitar strap. Oh well it's still ok in my book. It was good enough for BB.
@TheBhannah8 жыл бұрын
+coffeewaldo must be hard to put a strap on an upside down strat
@seanfitzpatrick78785 жыл бұрын
The way Eric plays a right handed guitar, strung for a right hander) flipped upside down, makes mimicking some of his extreme bends ridiculously for me to play as a right hand guitar player but it almost always leads to me creating new and unique licks for my arsenal.

It is like Tele players can't hear the ice pick tone they produce and assault their audiences with. This guy's tone is ultra harsh and obviously thinks it's cool. That is the reason Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan and other tele players go into oblivion. What a shame. Nice licks though.

+MrJoeyBoombotz I was on this cruise and spent some hours just a few feet from Josh Smith playing his Tele. I'm a guitar player and been close up to live music for almost 60 years. I guarantee there was no ice pick at all from Josh's Tele. If you are real familiar with Gatton and Roy, you would know that when you hear ice pick, they wanted you to hear it. When they didn't, you didn't. My first Tele was made in 1951 so I'm pretty familiar with them and how you get the ice pick and how you attenuate it.

That's nice. Thank you. He does play incredibly well.

+MrJoeyBoombotz I think strats are equally as harsh. However, it's not the difference in single coils or humbuckers that determines a guitarist's legacy. We live in a culture that does not appreciate greatness but embraces mediocrity in many cases. I won't go into the many, many examples -but there is merit in the statement.
