I am a long time voice / guitar / piano teacher. I show this video when my voice students & I start talking about how to "place your voice" and how to "manipulate tone". How to be "emotional" with your technique. Josh is the MASTER at this. We analyze every line. We listen to his tone, his resonance, the breathiness, when he pulls his tone back in his throat, when he gets nasal. We take note of his vibrato & how he uses it effortlessly. His phrasing too !!! We watch his mouth, neck & body. We also watch how he "works the audience" and adds humor & story to the performance. There is so much to learn from studying this man's beautiful voice & his mastery of his vocal instrument. FANTASTIC !!!

This man took a world wide hit and literally made it his own. He made me feel like it was my first time listening to this song. His emotions played into this song differ so greatly than the original. Whitney will always be queen but this man… this man right here… did this song more than justice. Mad respect. You broke my heart singing this song and I will forever give you my respect. Much love. Keep being you!

Whitney isn't the original though. Whitney covered the song, but it was written and originally sung by Dolly Parton.
@lbt11192 ай бұрын
This is actually a Dolly Parton song, she released it in the early 70's and it was a hit for her. Of course then Whitney used it for The Bodyguard and we all know what happened. Dolly probably built Dollywood with the royalties. This song has taken Josh all over the world. He's played it for President's, Ambassadors, all kinds of things and he plays it every live performance he does!! I love hearing Josh sing it, it has brought him so many fans and followers, still does to this day. I've been a fan/follower for 19 years and counting. He's been blowing up social media doing country, he is a country boy from Texas after all and I predict he's fixing to blow up everywhere! He has his 1st Nashville gig July 17th and this Texas girl is going to be there! Keep your eyes open, I believe Josh Weathers is fixing to SOAR!!!
