I am a long time voice / guitar / piano teacher. I show this video when my voice students & I start talking about how to "place your voice" and how to "manipulate tone". How to be "emotional" with your technique. Josh is the MASTER at this. We analyze every line. We listen to his tone, his resonance, the breathiness, when he pulls his tone back in his throat, when he gets nasal. We take note of his vibrato & how he uses it effortlessly. His phrasing too !!! We watch his mouth, neck & body. We also watch how he "works the audience" and adds humor & story to the performance. There is so much to learn from studying this man's beautiful voice & his mastery of his vocal instrument. FANTASTIC !!!

@@fistingendakenny8781 pretty dumb comment. So NFL coaches cant teach football because they cant play as well as the players? Teaching is one thing. Doing is another. He is simply commenting the man. Im sure you know nothing about it. So I suggest you keep your talent less voice shut. That being said... MUSIKRant Productions I completely agree with your assessment.

This man took a world wide hit and literally made it his own. He made me feel like it was my first time listening to this song. His emotions played into this song differ so greatly than the original. Whitney will always be queen but this man… this man right here… did this song more than justice. Mad respect. You broke my heart singing this song and I will forever give you my respect. Much love. Keep being you!

Whitney isn't the original though. Whitney covered the song, but it was written and originally sung by Dolly Parton.
@lbt1119
@lbt1119 2 ай бұрын
This is actually a Dolly Parton song, she released it in the early 70's and it was a hit for her. Of course then Whitney used it for The Bodyguard and we all know what happened. Dolly probably built Dollywood with the royalties. This song has taken Josh all over the world. He's played it for President's, Ambassadors, all kinds of things and he plays it every live performance he does!! I love hearing Josh sing it, it has brought him so many fans and followers, still does to this day. I've been a fan/follower for 19 years and counting. He's been blowing up social media doing country, he is a country boy from Texas after all and I predict he's fixing to blow up everywhere! He has his 1st Nashville gig July 17th and this Texas girl is going to be there! Keep your eyes open, I believe Josh Weathers is fixing to SOAR!!!

So many talented musicians in one place, from one place, playing hundreds of shows in between a couple of rivers to loyal fans every weekend. It's always so great when these guys get the respect they work so hard for, their tenacity is unmatched in my opinion. The irony is Texas music is known so much for the artists' songwriting, yet Josh, as well as many other Texas musicians, can display that same delivery through a cover... That is the talent ladies and gentlemen.

He is amazing. This reminds me of my son who no longer talks to me and who also is a singer. I raised him for his entire life and he chose to let something so petty and small get in between our bond of father and son. I hope one day he speaks to me again but if he doesnt I will always love him and want the best for him in his life. It's what I have always wanted for him was the best. I only hope one day he sees that. I love you son and miss you very much.

leahlaff he quit singing for the public not long after this came out. You can only catch him sing in Fort Worth for some worthy cause. God put it on his heart to do mission work. Sometimes he will sell shows to raise money for the girl's orphange in India that he & his wife are building for victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse. We are like a cult following now, I catch a show about once a year, I live 3 1/2 hrs. from Fort Worth.

HOLY SHIT. That truly incredible as a male vocalist myself the amount of raw talent for a male voice to go that high... it's literally unnatural. I was already impressed with what he did all the way up to the key change, but the moment he hit the key change I was truly blown away. Incredible and amazing Mr. Weathers.
