8 Ways to Increase Friendship + How to get Married in Rune Factory 5

Thanks for the video, Josh-you've been a busy beaver. Just re-posting this since you refactored the video. Too bad you didn't see this comment last time, eh? The gift system returns from RF4. You can also give a neutral gift daily for extra FP, in addition to liked and loved. Turnips Seeds are great neutral gifts, as they are cheap, stack, and are not disliked by anyone. The hand-crafted bonus is 10% of the original gift. Love Potions are not considered gifts, are instant FP with no cap per day, and are also quickly farmable from Faeries with max drop equipment. These can also be used to get multiple confession attempts per day saving reload time. Pro Tip: You can cancel the long animation of greeting magic by having a tool equipped beforehand, then switching to another a bit into the animation. It saves a lot of time when you use it dozens of times per day. Several things are also locked behind the 1FP request, like every crafting station, but nothing of importance is locked behind 5/10. In addition, the physical/magical attack bonus for forging together is unlocked at 3FP and becomes 20% at 10FP. The first mark you get is actually the 初心者マーク (beginner mark), which sets your max HP to at least 300 and allows infinite free baths until level 21. You can also use the 同行マーク (accompanying mark) to keep villagers under 7FP from leaving at 19:00. In addition, Randolf will accompany you immediately because he used to be an adventurer, then he apparently took an arrow to the, um, eye? Dates will only get angry with you if you talk to them AFTER you failed to meet them on any given day. Otherwise it will change to the day afterward, ad infinitum. The weather will be locked to sunny, postponing the normal weather cycle, which can be used to push away a typhoon that snuck up on you, or just to skip days without risking a typhoon/meteor shower. The re-gifting system is definitely its own video. It can be used to get broken, end-game accessories from Terry early on, or earn bank by getting rare and expensive scales from Ryker. By the way, at some point in patching the game they balanced out the amount of FP you get with characters like Reinhardt so that they don't jump up to 10+ when you first meet them. It's now merely a slight bonus while playing instead of the exploitable shenanigan it was before.

​@@montgomeryfortenberry I thought it worked for all dates, but only the named ones that take up the "Romance Stories" section allow for infinite postponement. Basically, the game forces date days to be sunny and it accomplishes this by inserting a new sunny day into the weather queue. Since it won't ever cancel special dates on you, if you never go on the date it's always sunny. It's just postponing the weather that would occur however, so if there was a Runey day or Typhoon the next day you will still get it. The example I was using was just leveraging the extra day added to allow you to actually push back the typhoon, since doing that requires a buffer day to actually work.

Actually, when it comes to gift giving you can give up to 3 gifts a day in both RF4 and RF5: 1 loved, 1 liked and 1 neutral. For example, in RF4 I would give Dylas milk porridge (loved), some basic sashimi (liked) and a medicinal herb (neutral) daily. Now I'm wondering if we could do thst in RF2 and RF3 as well, I should test it out 🤔

Not gonna lie, it's kinda frustrating that the game doesn't let you progress with the person you want just because you have other love scenarios in progress. Some of those are difficult to avoid triggering when like five of them appear at once in town. I've also had them auto trigger on the tail end of a main story cutscene that happens to take place in the love trigger spot, so I really had no choice.

I finally got this game last week and have played for a week now and I am really liking it. As far as dating goes I plan is to make multiple saving spots for the bachelors I wanted to marry (I want to date everyone except Cecil). I am still a ways off. I was hoping their was no consequences for dating multiple guys like in Stardew Valley, but I definitely want high chances of my confessions going through. I am still torn on who to start with, because but I know Martin and Reinhart are my fav overall in both personality and looks, I am saving them for last. I wished I liked Lucas's appearance more because personality wise he is my fav.

Uhhhhhh..... So...you know how people tend to struggle getting people to date them in these games (read: 4 and this one)? Especially if they're already dating someone? Well...um... So I finally got Martin to accept my confession after getting him to 9 hearts (not dating anyone) and literally not even 5 seconds after he accepted it (and I rewatched the confession event until I heard all of the voice lines for each nickname in both English and Japanese...) I decided to confess to Beatrice (8 hearts) since she was standing only a few feet away...I figured she wouldn't accept my confession and was pretty much just doing it for the heck of it.... Well... "I'm quite fond of you myself" Me who confessed to her literally the night before after Martin accepted my confession (but before triggering the confession event) just out of curiosity as to what she would say: Hold up....that's not what she says when she rejects you.... So yeah... I haven't even been dating Martin for 5 seconds and I'm already c̶h̶e̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶ starting my harem because apparently Beatrice is so madly in love with me that she accepted my confession first try when I wasn't even being serious.... Guess now all I have left to to is to get Ryker into my harem (and then maybe Reinhard and _MAYBE_ Cecil but I don't really want to ruin Martin and Cecil's relationship by adding him to the harem as well because there's a literal bro code to uphold here) and then I'll be able to figure out who I'm willing to marry....

Attempt 36 at confessing... Reloading my save every time so I can confess just as we reach 10 hearts. No side events going on. All of his 3 events completed. All love for him is gone by this point. It's all frustration now. It just won't happen.

Do you have a side event already going on? If so you will get rejected. It is because the successful confession turns into a side event. You can check if you have a side event active by pressing + and checking under the quest page. I confessed at 8 hearts and all 3 events done with no problem. Hope this helps.

You need to finish all characters events first. So you will have to finish all those pink icons!! Hope this helps! You'll also need to have done the final event for your marriage choice.

With the people you take with you to explore, if you give them equipment and weapons, do they work better with certain weapon classes or does it not matter? For example: like if I gave Ludmila an axe would that work just as well as giving her a sword or does she have a certain weapon she works best with?

Hi! Yes, similarly to how it works in RF4, characters have preferred weapon types. I'm not sure how big of a difference it makes if you give them a weapon they like or not, because in most cases they feel a bit useless, but they do have a preference and can learn abilities for that weapon type.

anyone know how to activate fuuka's third scenario? I'm at the point of the story where you need to track down the bandit so he can tell you where to find the main foe, and I have fuuka up to level 9 affection and still won't accept my confession, the scenarios I've seen with her have been when she tells me about the iron shop, seeing her at the iron shop and I'm not sure if thats the other one but one about doing sweets but I guess that's not the one as like I said she's level 9 and still says "this is a bad joke".

You can marry before the story is over, but you'll need to progress until you've unlocked all dating options (ludmilla). I married Martin as soon as Ludmilla was unlocked.

Confessions always have a risk of failing. 😭If it fails you'll have to increase your friendship by one more level before you can have another chance at confessing. So get Reinhard to lvl 10 friendship, make sure to save, try to confess, and if it doesn't work, reload and try again. Also make sure there's no other events currently in progress and that you've seen the first 3 events with Reinhard.

If they said no, you have to wait til the next level, once you do reach the next level, save the night before you confess, then confess, if it fails, reload
