Yeah he’s got everything down but the showmanship. Ultimately sound is the only thing that matters on records, but when it comes to playing live with metal band, hitting soft with drums and cymbals set close and low doesn’t give the same effect as someone who plays with a lot of movement. Basically showmanship is just that; showmanship. But it makes a difference. No doubt josh is a great drummer, but compare him to guys who are dramatic and also powerful and you’ll know what I mean. Dude who plays for sepultura(eloy casagrande I think) is an example, albeit a little on the extreme end. Check out his cover of people equal shit by slipknot. Not meaning to knock mr. Stephen at all. He’s a much better drummer than I!
