When you swtich from V2 to O3, you will lose your binds. WTFOS has a module to prevent this when going back to Vista, but there is no fix when going to O3.

13:11.... same BUG happened to me jb... when I had a ssuuperr low battery.... And my drone was off..... NEVER had the problem before.... But I power cycled a couple times... but yeah... not sure how it happened either....! But I went through that page.. choose english and then was dead in the water after..! Just DONT let your goggles run too long without plugging your drone in...?! ❤ you JB!

23:00 I keep having issues at this step. I select my UART Port and so on, but as soon as i want to apply it i get Error in set: Invalid Name: for both CLI commands. I've tried The newest betaflight version (4.5.1) and 4.4, both to the same result. any help? It keeps asking about a VTX table also, but that doesnt seem to apply for DJI VTX as far as i can read online. The UART Port is definitely correct, i can see the Lipo voltage ETC via the Regular DJI OSD on the bottom right Caddx Vista, Goggles V2, Mamba Basic MK3 F722 stack Without Bluetooth

I think you're on Betaflight 4.5, where the CLI commands have changed from 4.4. Go to the Presets tab and load the O3 OSD preset instead of manually entering the CLI commands.

I run v1 goggles. This hack reboots. I get about 2 to 3 cut outs in 8 packs... I updated when they said they fixed... Same issue, cuts outs, damaged multiple batteries in crashes. Updated again.. Same issue.. Then I recently updated again to the very latest firmware... Same stuff... Got 2 cut outs in 6 packs. This hack is garbage

Sorry about all those unnecessary crashes. Was really hoping to use this hack along with FormationFlight to fly with buds. Guess it is too unstable though. Plus, I use the v1 radio controller (the black box with two long antennas), so makes me more worried that these cutouts may also cut my control link (won't be able to hit the GPS rescue switch) :(

So I didn't know about the Vista thing, and I went right to this process with a brand new out of the box unit. Now I have the constant red light of death on my smoked Vista. The first time hearing anything about that was after watching this video in an attempt to figure out what I did wrong. Expensive mistake on my part. Just an FYI for everyone. You absolutely can brick a Vista, and, no, butter will not undo it.

ok, in the end I didn't install WTFOS. The "the goggles may reboot during flight" is a no-go for me. I can't have this happening to me when I do long range and/or risky flight I tend to go for when I travel the world

I have the O3 Air unit and i have my V2's that i was able to Root with WTFOS and your video a while back when i got them. Theyve worked well so far for my DJI Avata. Finally got my O3 Air Unit in. Anyway, i can see my Betaflight OSD fine in the goggles while using BF V4.4. However, this being my first couple times using the O3 Air Unit finally, it seems like i cant record this BF OSD on the Goggles V2's DVR, or with the videos subtitles file being used as well, that just has time and camera setting info.. Is it possible to record what you see on the actual screen of the V2's in O3 Air Unit Mode and Flying in the Goggles screens(Video+BF OSD)? I dont see the .msp file i see mentioned on Google either, thats supposedly used to make the video with the WTFOS FPV's OSD Overlay Tool.. It would also be helpful to have a delay in turn off the recording on disarming. Like have a 2sec delay after disarm to stop the video recording.

@@jaxonbmx2699 Im pretty sure its actually just not possible and never was, and is a Hardware Limitation on the DVR side itself. However no one has created a program to capture the data dn overlay it back on like OSD or even like the DJI style OSD.. I dont think it would be that hard to grab the data from the goggles input for the OSD, and save it to the SD card. OR I have heard of people doing some method that involves blackbox logging for the osd information, but i dont know much about it and haven't looked into it recently.. Seems like its only possible with the V1/OG Air Unit & Vistas too im assuming then. Unfortunately, there's no way to use that Overlay tool for the OSD with the O3 system though just the V1 AU, so it doesn't seem like it will ever work on the V2's. What i read when looking into this it that the OSD chip is added to the Video signal, right before it goes out to the internal LCD Display's, but this is after the DVR unit itself so it doesn't see it or get recorded... You would need to get the Goggles 2/Integras to make it work it properly. Which really sucks because I love my V2's and i don't really want to replace them with the Goggles 2 or buy a set of Goggles 2 rn. It would be great to have both lol.. But the Goggles 2 are still too expensive for me to justify buying it, already happy with the V2's for now. I'd rather pick up a set of HDZero goggles or even the Walksnail X goggles, and get a HDZero VRX for it. Would be good for my 5" and my 1s/2s tiny drones as well. The I/O of both goggles is very nice, especially the newer WS X's.

Hi, JB, thanks for the video, I followed all the steps and managed to configure my 7 inch with air unit without major difficulties, but on the 5 inch, I can't get an "HD" OSD with a DJI Kit vista lite . I use DJI Goggles V2 with WTFOS installed. The 5 inch drone with which I have "problems" is composed as follows: FC stack: Diatone Mamba F405 MK3 lite, with Betaflight 4.4.0 (I also tried 4.4.4 but it's the same) DJI unit connected on UART 3, receiver on UART 1 in SBUS (no telemetry wire) and GPS on UART 2 Everything is as PINOUT indicated by Diatone. VTX: Vista lite kit with original DJI camera and WTFOS installed with packages enabled. Also set presets for WTFOS on bataflight 4.4.0. Basically I can see the OSD with all the info I want, but I can't get the HD font version, even the OSD screen remains off-centre, it's as if the OSD remained in SD instead of HD. Custom OSD is disabled on the headset. As I mentioned, with the other drone with the DJI Air unit you can see everything in HD (much more recent FC, a ZEUS F7, again with betaflight 4.4.1), I also tried to copy the entire OSD set from the CLI from 7 inches to 5, but it doesn't change my view, it always remains in SD. The only thing I can think to check is that your canvas size is set correctly. WTFOS should do this automatically but in my experience sometimes it fails. set osd_canvas_width = 60 set osd_canvas_height = 22 save After that, you just need to drag things to the left and right and it shoudl work correctly.

Currently WTFOS is the only HD system which automatically sets the canvas size, but you need to power the system up for it to tell BF the canvas size. No need to paste the canvas size into the CLI.

I have had a little confusion with this before, where the configurator seems to not get the canvas size reliably and the OSD gets messed up. And since other vTX don't do it yet, I have just made a habit of always pasting it in.

Hello Joshua or who ever read this :) i am bit confused about DJI V2 goggles versions now. i have my Vista airunit in drone (works perfect) and in next few weeks i will buy O3 and add it in my next drone, but i still wana use my DJI V2 goggles (now running 01.00.0606 version with WTFOS OSD and FCC ) only version for me in DJI assistant is 01.00.0607 ( i see it only when i uninstal my WTFOS) when i uninstal wtfos and update to 01.00.0607 will my goggles work with DJI o3/Vista and will be compatible with WTFOS ? i am confused how to get it to work. thank you :)

I've had the bug happen to me twice now. It didn't reboot, the screen just freezes and the OSD isn't responsive. I had to power cycle the googles. Luckily the quad was nearby and low to the ground both times. I installed GPS rescue and upgraded WTFOS. I hate to give up the HD OSD. Fingers crossed.

@@skyflow_kreative_imaging I don't think the github page shows any changes made. But they have done updates to WTFOS and modules. Anyway, they devs fixed the bug and I have been using WTFOS on my Googles V2/OG AU/Vistas without problems.

I haven’t had the freezing bug but my msp-osd on my Google’s is quiet old so maybe the bug was introduced in newer versions, fortunately even though some of my vista units are on newer versions of msp-osd everything seems to work fine. I guess it might also be that I don’t have a lot of the wtf-osd stuff enabled on the Google’s either, just auto-record and msp-osd so the Google’s are not being taxed too much. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way on the wtf website to install older versions of WTFOS to see if the freezing bug can be eliminated that way for people suffering from it.

The O3 cannot be rooted and doesn't need to be rooted. it supports OSD natively.

Hi Joshua, thanks for your video first of all.....Since I'm going crazy I ask you the following: I have Googles 2 glasses, I paired them with a Caddix vista and I can see all the OSD including the GPS data by binding the Googles 2 with the new dji 03 having done all the procedures I can see for example average battery voltage or other OSD options made available by Betaflight but of the GPS data only height then speed latitude longitude Home arrow nothing at all. I tried to see if the data wasn't overlapping on the screen but nothing at all... Do you know what it could depend on? Furthermore, despite having unlocked the glasses in FCC, the mbps do not exceed 30-31 mbps, despite the 40 Mghz glasses I have 3 channels. Thanks in advance for any help you may have.

Thanks for another terrific how-to video. In my case I’m struggling. I get through to the WTFOS part where you connect the goggles. I click connect and it says looking for ADB. Could take 30 seconds. Soon after it fails and says to re-root. Goggles are set to 0606 firmware. What did I miss? I’ve tried a couple cables, USB C to USB A. Tried two different USB ports on the laptop as well. No luck.

So I got the goggle to root and installed WTFOS on them. But now I can’t get the Vista to root. Followed all the steps, tried different cables, USB ports. One screen says connected checking for ADB could take 30 secs. Then it says failed detecting ADB reroot. Any ideas? My ox is a news Windows 11 one if that matters. Thanks

I honestly regret installing MSP OSD package (lag, display issues, garbage characters in the OSD appearing sometimes), but I can’t roll it back because I will lose Betaflight OSD menu, and since 4.4 there are dshot issues that prevent re-arming after disarm until you reboot the FC (which you can only do via OSD if you need turtle mode and it’s stuck in a tree). :(

Hey man ! im wondering where you found the top fan shroud that has the mounting point for the VRX unit. I currently have the hdo2s & would like to make the jump to hd but i havent quite had the balls to pull the trigger on ordering a set of integra goggles & an air unit. mainly because im still semi new in this hobby & would like to just rip the shit out of my analog gear. I definently want to swap over to HD but i havent known the best route to take. Any information is appreciated. it seems that the walksnail vrx system / bundle with the avatar VTX is the best(cheapest) route to take but i dont want to buy that gear and eventually just need to swap to a dji solution & have more gear thats more or less obselete for me at that point.. Should i just pull the trigger on a goggles integra & an airunit if i have the money to do so ? & if so what antenna solution is recommended for the integra. Thanks in advance my man. More info: TBS mambo with crsf TX, hdo2 goggles, I fly 6s. Hi JB, i have 4.4.2 on my quad, have rooted the googles and also the AU, the OSD seems to be stuck at 4:3 even though in the OSD tab it shows wide, have confirmed canvas size also but this is still not working. This was however working a while ago, the HD fonts were showing up correctly, but after i flew a craft with the latest INAV, this stopped working and i havent been able to get it working since. I have rerooted the AU, copied over diff BF font files, but its not working. OSD is stuck at 4:3, and font files arent being read by WTFOS. Any idea what I could be missing?

@JoshuaBardwell Hello! I watched this video, but I still couldn't set up osd? Let me explain what I did, maybe there was a mistake somewhere. First, I looked at the firmware version on the glasses, it was 1.00.0607. However, when I connected the glasses to DJI assistance, it shows version 1.05.0000, so I decided to update it to 1.07.0000 right away. But even after the update, the glasses continued to show version 1.00.0607. Next, I had to download the file from the osd to the air unit (I have a Caddix polar air unit), which, when connected to WTFOS, said that the version was 1.00.0608. Okay, question, does the version of the glasses have to match the version of my Polar Vista? If so, how do I do it? I have installed 1.07.0000 on the glasses On the Polar Vista, it is 1.00.06.08, (this is what WTFOS shows me). I can't connect to DJI assisnatce, it doesn't give me a list of firmware, it keeps giving me error 4-10. I have already uninstalled WTFOS from the air unit. But nothing helped. What do I need to do next?

Man for months I won't fly my Nazgul because of it 1/2 way working. I see the bin files loading in goggles then nothing. On a Vista. Any help? I even been in the discord. Some times it would work with no issues. I redid everything and now with nothing checked in OSD Betaflight I see weird symbols at random places.

i have a dji goggles v2 with Dji Air unit O3 on my drone, i receive OSD on my goggles V2 but not on the recording video DVR!! on the dvr video it recorded just the video without OSD !! i am on the latest firmware update Goggles & O3 unit (BF4.4.2 with HDOSD), can some one help please, Thx

I get the canvas.. all is working... except.. the osd is still off not as what it it showing.. as if I need to move everything furter to the left to compensate... just trying to fix the canvas mode is not doing it for me. the airunit is rooted and is from a bind and fly crocodile 7 HD and the v2 goggle from europe. any other cavas with suggestion so it works ?

@@JoshuaBardwell yes :) Even tried one of the lower sizes someone mentioned in the comments. Edit: Ive Rooted my airunit over again. Fcc hacks are working. Did everything else. All osd is working. Just off of where its at. So I used goggle and battery to arange em so I can see them. So it is working. Just not as it should. In betaflight configurator it looks as if all is to my left of the middle.. in real life it works.

One issue i noticed with the WTFOS, even with the AV-IN package installed, everytime my 3.5mm video signal gets a signal, it causes the goggles to do a quick reboot.. They go to the DJI logo for 2 secs, and then it comes back on all of a sudden and its working.. However, if the video cable or the module is not perfect it could keep loosing and getting a signal and causing me to lose video feed. Ive fixed the problem with that part of it, but still it seems to be an issue when trying to make your own simple fatshark module adapter, that works on the TV's 3.5mm input or an lcd screen, but it doesnt work in the dji goggles because of the way it seems to handle the signal, it doesnt always go into the snowflake mode eve though i have that option selected.

I unistalled and installed the update version of the AV-IN package, and with the option checked for the continuous signal/blue screen displayed or something to that effect and with a RX5808pro VRX module in a fatshark enclosure going the DJI V2's with a 3P 3.5mm cable and it was working great and the DJI has a great DVR for analog! I use a set of lightly used Fatshark HDO's i got from a friend for a great deal with a RFire module and i use that for my Analog drones.. Just wish the DVR was the same resolution as the screen. I did the fw update & dvr update too already as well. It just really kills the videos, but its watchable. The oleds also seem to make even crappy cameras look nice for some reason, the colors pop even at night, llike the grass or a red brick wall thats got some street lighting on it..

I'm still kind of on a fence with this WTFOS. My good buddy had his goggles v2 going weird couple of times. Left LCD completely shut off midflight, resulting in a crash. He also reported freezing (picture still on both screens, except frozen). Does anyone know if these problems are still present with this hack?

Im on the edge about it as well but I really need that full Betaflight OSD. There are elements I would like to see in the goggles that I cannot currently see.... but I dont want my stuff freezing up or messing up and quads dropping. I fly lots in areas where recovery is not possible.

Hi Joshua, I have the V2 goggles that I received in the fpv combo. I was forced to update after activating my stuff. I’m looking at downgrading my fpv drone to a less restrictive firmware. Will my goggles v2 then need this root ? Does the googles newest firmware demand the fpv drone to be using the latest firmware? I don’t have any vistas but I do have an o3 I’m going to put in a build. Thank you!

There is no down-side to updating the v2 goggles to the latest firmware. The only thing that matters is if you have firmware 0608 or 01.01 on the Vista.

Once you have wtfos installed you can't download the firmware list in Assistant. You have to uninstall it if updating with Assistant.

I was told you can update the firmware on the V2s where you dont have to rebind every time you switch from an OG to an 03. Is this true? Sorry if I missed the video that you explained it on. Thanks in advance.

WTFOS fixes the bug going back from O3 to OG, but you still lose all your O3 binds going the other way.

hy JB, unfortunately it doesn't work for me. it tells me that I have a too new version on my googles v2 that is 01.00.0607, and to downgrade with butter. that's what I did. to version 01.00.0606. but it gives me the same error :( . can you help me?

No. You need to uninstall WTFOS if you want to flash using Assistant. After flashing, reinstall.

The v2 goggles can work with DJI FPV, O3, and Vista all at the same time. You don't need to buy new goggles if you don't want to.

Wiring incorrect. Wrong UART selected. Damaged air unit.
