I know you really really do not like offices but I think working there is not contrary to your philosophy of separating work and private life. For me personally I find it easier to concentrate in a separate space frome home and can easier shut work out if I leave the building. Where as with WFH a lot of people tend to actually work longer than in the office. Of course commuting sucks but it is also nice if you have a separate space for work and your home is only for private matters. Also a lot of people do not have that much space at home as suburban Americans. I still think however there should be an option for all people. Sometimes you gotta watch the kids, something else comes up or some people just do now want to work at the office and thats fine too.

I'll be working remote forever. If they make me come back I'm quitting.

I am so glad the company i work at is letting people choose if they want to stay fully remote or come back to the office! The HR here is doing things right! They noticed how much money they saved with everyone being remote due to covid and there is no loss in productivity. If anything I am more productive when working remote since i save 2+ hours a day not driving!

Here’s some ice cream for all that money you have to spend commuting again.

I just started working a remote job about a month ago. Understandably, I haven't been doing this for long but I have absolutely no interest in working inside an office. As a self-taught developer, I thrive working alone just like I did the 2 prior year's coding for free.

Why would you code for free?

Gotta learn somehow. I learned on my own. Didn't spend any money but also didn't make money doing it.

Why go back to the damn office if you still have to wear a mask.

I've never worked in an office, but it reminds me of school if it was ran by the suck ups, and is very totalitarian. Why couldn't they let socializing be optional?

Do you think CEOs still use chain letter emails and that's where all of these mediocre ideas of incentives & perks are born & how they seem to spread so quickly across the corporate world?

I've said it before but as much as corporate waging sucks, they do give you golden handcuffs. The best plan is to milk that life for 10-20 years, max retirement accounts and dip out early. Currently in the middle of this process. Hate everything about it, but i'm on the path to be a millionaire early. Fortune 10 corporate wagie :[

As I typed in KZbin and clicked, my inner voice literally spoke "I hope Joshua Fluke has posted a new video." Not disappointed! :-D Another great video. Thank-you.

@@TheInterwebzMan yeah being nice, and genuine in a world full of suck ups, users, and creeps can get misinterpreted. I love what Josh does. He calls out the fake niceness and labels that the cringe it is. There is nothing fake about loving Josh's videos.

As a manager, a common compliment I'd get was..... "I like working for you because you leave me alone."

I prefer to wake up at 7, take care of morning work tasks while still in my pajamas, see my kids throughout the day, have a hot lunch with my family, and get a nooner with my wife while the kids have nap time. I'm never going back to the office.

Why does everyone in this video look sad, confused, and lost... perhaps bordering on depressed. So happy I don't work in some cubicle.

Don't ever just take what HR says for granted. I'd say 60% of the time THEY don't even know what the policies are they try and enforce.
