51:00 spoiler It is really, really misleading to claim that Benitez was getting "a sex change". Benitez was born intersexed but with only male genitalia presenting. He believed he was a completely normal man until age 30, when, while getting an appendectomy, it was discovered that he had a uterus and overies. (Benitez may indeed have been genetically XY but with androgen insensitivity syndrome; there are several medical scenarios that could have applied, but he did not necessarily have two X chromosomes.) The procedure, a laparoscopic hysterectomy, would have removed his uterus and ovaries through the navel since he had no vagina. This procedure would have mitigated the risk of uterine or ovarian cancer later in life. But Benitez decided to decline the procedure and remain as God had made him. Since he had lived his whole life believing himself to be a man, and he had only male genitalia, there was no problem with him accepting a calling for which only men could be appointed.
