Watched the JP player analysis of megu6o play, the search of ponix and saving it in hand in around 4:00 was very crucial. The reason he didn't pop the ponix is because Quantal has shuffler in GY. The plan was to use Kirin GY effect to pop the king sac to prevent quantal from getting imsety back. However, Kirin effect reads If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "Fire King" monster from your hand or GY, except "Fire King High Avatar Kirin", then you can destroy 1 card on the field The keyword is they will resolve the special summon in order to trigger the pop effect (THEN). If megu6o tries to SS from GY, quantal can simply use shuffler to shuffle the target back and thus Kirin effect fizzles.

Well Paleo is the definition of Anti-Meta atm in MD as nobody really played a good way to chainblock their effects and almost all have problems on overly relaying on a huge board so they play into Burst. Unlike stun Paleo is a proactive anti meta deck.

​@@Stanky_Foot and it's simple to fix. They just need to add small increments, like in a chess clock. It's even more frustrating when you go second and need to do a perfect sequence of plays to break a board.

The coinflip mattering so much to me is very unfair, since this is a team tournament I think it would be the most fair if each team got to pick 4 going first games, then for the final 9th game that can be a legit coin flip, I think this beats a team getting completelly screwed by the coin result.

Knowing the timer was a huge factor with the game Quantal player help add a lot of context. Shifter and Bystials are not the Tear player's worst enemy. Its the timer. I can attest picking up the Deck only iust recently. The times I had to panic select stuff as the clock was low was so miserable.

Next year josh i honestly think you shouldn’t be too focused on using decks your not comfortable with because its meta, i loved watching your duels and i do think if you played something your very comfortable with it would have probably came to a better predicament.

The Jesse game is not even his best game, it's just a funny deck out game so people remember it. Jesse had a more impressive technical game in Round 4 vs magu6o from Hero's Future, where Jesse went 2nd without any handtraps or non-engine, and still broke a full SEFK board with just engine alone, even reduced his opponent to no card on field and hand and won easily
