I actually think the Ryzeal matchup for Centur-ion is a lot better than Josh gives it credit for. The protection effects of Auxila, Primera and Stand up become integral to playing through a Ryzeal game plan, to the point where if you manahe your resources right you are basically never giving the detonator a good target to pop. Going second is a bit tougher, but a combination of non engine like droplet and DRNM and some hand traps along with the bystials gives your going second hands some better leverage. You can also splash some white forests and zapper shrimp in your (admittedly tight) extra to mix up the decks game plan going first. I"ve liked it so far on a local level against the people here playing ryzeal and maliss

I really dont know if pure ryzeal is that good, its truly the powerhouse of fiendsmith that makes the deck feel ridiculous right now. That being said if anyone thought ryzeal would be bad or not meta defining they were crazy

The reasoning behind was that in a one to one match, Ryzeal could not handle Snake-eyes by itself and I believe anyone could see coming this "variant" with the Fiendsmith package. Still, when the cards were presented before their official launch in OCG, all people actually claimed that was just an ass turbo rank 4 deck with nothing special, even with their field spell. The opinions started to change with its success in OCG but obviously due to the hits to the dominants decks, and now is playing to the TCG as well.

I'm nowhere near as good as you are Josh, but since you value viewer input id like to share my experience with two of the decks you don't have much time with on this list: 1) Voiceless matchup into Detonator isn't as bad as it seems. If you play the Nadir's Servant and Maximus line, that card almost by itself disables the standard Ryzeal board (Fiendsmith hybrids adding Desirae to the equation of course complicates this); or if they're bricked on handtraps, it baits them so that your normal plays can resolve. Being able to play Dominus Purge is also a benefit since Ryzeal cannot play it, and them opening Cross doesn't save them from it. 2) White Forest Azamina can absolutely be a contender if good players like you choose to pilot it. It has a strong grind game like you mentioned, but also can put up a terrifying board when there's less handtraps to stop it, kind of like Yubel in that regard. Diabell (the Synchro) giving you access to a toolbox at quick speed is not to be underestimated, and with the banning of generic boss monsters, being able to reliably get to Ilia Silvera is also a boon. You can even play something like Silent Magician as a searchable one-of endboard piece if you choose. This deck just needs a good builder and good pilot, and it'll top, I'm certain of it. With a meta that isn’t Omni-negate turbo but loves the banish - many decks can shine that just run multiple copies of their boss monsters. However decks like runick, WW, even most rogue decks like zombies absolutely suffer under the shifter. I think it’s not a bad meta, one top deck that’s easy to play and multiple choices depending on your preferences.

Goblin bikers is realistically tier 2-3 atm. It deals with ryzeal incredibly well, and with the materiactor support it pushes through hand traps decently easy. It's also decent against other decks bc it can run a decent amount of nonengine and any fiendsmith deck provides free material for it via ceaser.

When it comes to Chimera, Azamina Chimera is also an option. In a tournament I played in a short while ago, that deck overperformed. Another deck that overperformed, mainly because people did not know how to play against it was Vaalmonica. If you want to suprise the opponent with a rogue deck they are not prepared for then give Vaalmonica a try.

How budget do you mean? A of the decks in tier 2, and maybe memento (though I could be wrong about that one) can be built for under $100 or $80. And I'm pretty sure you could put together tenpai or runick stun for sub $30

But either way I’m pretty jaded with the game for most part anyway, and I’m pretty confident that if you aren’t playing Malice or Ryzeal you’re just losing. None of those tier 2 decks look good and the ones that do aren’t budget friendly.

With more recent support, Memento has become a strategy that is not reliant on the fiendsmith cards. Pure Memento can run plenty of non-engine and hella gas. However, the fiendsmith engine is still a powerful strategy the memento can use at the cost of a tighter extra deck and less non-engine. Between pure and fiendsmith memento, what do you think is the better deck between them?

I'm not surprised competitive players are excited about this new format, almost every format were there's a clear tier 1 or tier 0 deck is good for them so they can get a better reading of the format and perform better in events, but for me, this isn't exciting, I want more diversity, it will get boring really fast seeing the same 2 decks at most in endless mirror matches all over again.

Memento finally getting it's respect 🥲. I haven't lost to Ryzeal at all yet with it. I'm able to consistently push through it's board with mostly engine (with desire on board as well). Maliss isn't a hard matchup either, unless they draw shifter, but u have nib and Lancea, so it's 6 cards vs their 3. Also if they don't see shifter, u just win.

It looks like a more manageable meta, but now the complaints (a few I must note) I see is that TCG is just a school playground for kids banning everything good that is still on MD. I really don't care that much about these things as casually this don't matter a lot but seems a problem for some people to have the omni negate cards banned as well hitting high impact decks as Tenpai and Snake-eyes in the TCG.

I’m not a huge fan of how Fiendsmith just continues to be an overused engine in almost every deck. It kinda breaks the individual playstyle each deck has especially when the engine in question is just so oppressive on its own.
