I wish so much that every person who makes video reviews would watch yours to understand what professional reviews look like. Of all the stellar aspects of what you do, my favorite is the fact that the start of the video is the start of the review. It's the biggest breath of fresh air on the internet. We're not first greeted with talk of your recent colon surgery or the stating of information no one watching the video wouldn't already know. This alone is reason enough to support every video you produce. Thank you thank you thank you.

I got to say I wholeheartedly disagree with Josh on this video. I absolutely love and adore the nano. I have A-B'd, the organic vs the nano back to back and I just don't understand how he gives the organic such high praises but not the nano. For the price versus performance, I definitely pick the Nano. But that's just what my ears like. I suppose. Everyone has to be their own judge.

And i wholeheartedly agree with Josh. Every word i can sign. Because listened nano and compared to sudara and xs. Nano is super detailsled, resolution is like, 4k but overall worse tuning than xs and sundara. I can't say about organic as i haven't listened them. But nano is too bright, bass is worse than xs, and overal not very engaging. It suits better for detail freaks, but music is not all in details so it depends what you need from your music. Sundara and xs more natural tuned and fun to listen. But ofcourse as many ears as many opinions. Mine is the same as Josh.

Ananda Nano is a fantastic Mixing & Mastering Headphone! Had never heard of it before, I compared it to the Audaze LCD-X and MM-500, the Focal Clear MG, the Sundara, Stealth and some more. The Nano is displaying and revealing frequencies in the most accurate and clear way. EQing Nano's frequency response makes it fantastic. I was willing to spend nearly 2'000$ for the MM-500 - supposedly the GOAT of mixing headphones - which turned out to be horrible headphones to me. I do not understand how someone can mix on them. If you really want to enjoy music, the LCD-X is better. Huge soundstage, beautiful highs, fast and warm. The Nano has a bit smaller soundstage , but stunning clearness in the mids and highs. It also displays Dept more clearly, which let's you make mixing and editing descisions easy. Love it! Luckily my ears like a headphone that is not so expensive :)

I recently got the Edition XS over the sundara. One I had extra money and there was a Aliexpress post for XS for $150 cheaper than Hifiman so it was only $100 more than the Sundara. Comfort wise it can be a toss up, I love the 6XX for comfort but others may not. I put a (used) 6xx head cushion on the XS (used velcro wire managers to keep it in place) and the XS has become an 8 hour headphone for me or even longer. Got some velour hybrid pads from Aliexpress as well that make them feel nicer when I have glasses on and in general tho that isn't needed imo. Highly recommend XS for under $500usd, I got mine for $350usd. For the price I felt alright getting it without trying it. Not sure if I would do that for anything over $500usd.

Bought both the sundara 2020 and edition xs same time, and had to return the xs. Comfort is far superior on the sundaras due to the suspension headband. Also the pads don't creak if you wear glasses. Sound quality is pretty close, the edition xs has a slightly better soundstage, sundaras still sound great to my ears, they're the only ones I haven't upgraded from in 3+ years.

Edit they went back already, had a loose left jack port, right side would securely plug in but left side feels "wrong" inserting and lets the jack work its way out enough to hear the left side cut out. I think comparison with Ananda SE (previous version) would have given a reference to a lot of people because many may be knowing knowing how Ananda SE sounds. And if Nano is better than SE than they would have been there own judge to compare the headphones they listen to. I think Josh overhyped the Organic in his 'Organic vs Everything' video and underrated the Nano. He is a good reviewer, so a lot of people skewed towards the Organic than the same bracket headphones. Resolve also reviewed the Organic but he didn't overhype them at all and he finds them 'One of the Arya Headphones' ( if you get the reference). Lol! Anyway, thanks for the comparison and your views on this.

I am one of those that took your recommendation and purchased the DT1990. I have been using it for 7 months now, paired it with a warmish source and did the paper towel mod but only 1 ply because adding more will change the character of the headphone, 1 ply will just add a slight hint of warmth. It's simply hard to beat, there is a reason why it is still competitive in today's standards after 7 years. SQ, comfort, build quality, it just checks all the boxes and since it's a little bit old, you can always purchase them in the used market for with confidence since it is built like a tank.

I've been researching headphones to buy and I've realized that I will need to equalize almost any headphones I purchase in order to achieve the best performance. I'm new to this and I'm hoping that knowledgeable headphone fans can help me find an answer to my question. I have thousands of Classical music CDs and I'm wondering if there is a way to apply headphone equalization by using the digital audio signal from the coaxial, HDMI, or optical outputs of my CD player. Does the equipment exist that would enable me to do this? I'd love it if anyone could direct me to a resource that might provide me with a solution to this technical problem. When I got the DT1990, I was very disappointed because I could not stand the harsh-sounding highs. What exactly did the ear pads change to make them better? The Dekoni pads considerably raised my love for the Edition XS. They went from ok'ish to my absolute favorites.
@andreasels779 Жыл бұрын
Deconi Elite Velour pads are definitely an upgrade, but imo the upgrade is more on the comfort side of things and not the sound side. To tame the treble a bit, I've replaced the foam discs with the ones of the Amiron Wireless (can buy them directly from Beyerdynamic for a few bucks) and after doing so I haven't found any EQ setting that I found more enjoyable than leaving them without EQ.

I have the stealth, XS and nano. It's important to note I'm using them with an ibasso dx320 and hifiman ef400 dac. Using only the dx320, the nano sounds significantly different than the stealth. The nano is the most dynamic hifiman headphone I have. Finally a hifiman that hits hard on the bass. The mids are more forward than the stealth. Vocal forward presentation. The highs have way more air than the stealth. It sounds alive. The stealth come over as neutral to the point of being slightly boring in comparison. This is like an XS done properly. If the nano come over as too bright at times I strongly suggest you you adjust the alignment of the cans on your head. I find a bass drum heavy track and reposition the drivers so the bass hits the centre of my throat This totally de-empathise the highs. I'll take the nano over the stealth every time. The nano resolves way more than my XS and stealth. The only thing the xs has over the nano is the headband. Big head comfort. The nano clamps way too much out of the box but after a couple of weeks, it's calming down. Though still clampy. The nano band is smaller than the stealth as I don't have any issues with the stealth's band. Now when I connect the dx320 to the hifiman ef400 things take a major change. Things become real smooth. This is probably how the nano should sound. The stealth, XS and Nano go through the same effect with the ef400. The r2r sound is so good. Period! I will only pick up the XS if I'm using it with ef400. That's when they actually sound right and at there best. Great pairing for those with XS. To summarise those who have an XS or stealth, the nano is a significant upgrade. The nano beats both in the bass, mids and highs. I really have no need for the XS and stealth. Do check the other reviewers before you decide. Also check the frequency response graph comparing the Nano with the organic. Scarely similar! Hope this was helpful.

Ananda Nano vs Arya Organic, who will win? Speaking of who's better by their price.
@S.G54321 Жыл бұрын
Very tricky. I personally prefer the Ananda Nano with some tubes. It really changes them and makes them so much nicer. But the Arya has that slightly bigger soundstage and extra added sense of depth. But I love the raw detail and clarity of the Nano. With tubes, the sensw of depth, width, height, imaging, bass, dynamics is emhanced on the Ananda Nano, and for me, it's planar endgame. It's not about which is better. But more of, what tuning you prefer which speaks of how good the Ananda Nano is. The Arya Organic is defs not $700 worth of improvement. Maybe $50 better? The Ananda Nano is that good. Just depends if you like the tuning of the Nano and what it does. Or if you like tgw tuning of the Arya Organic and what it does. If you have tubes, and some eq. Personally, the Ananda Nano is my pick hands down. The raw detail, clarity and sense of speed is crazy. The tubes just make them smoother and more musical adding that sense of even larger staging, more low end impact, basically improves everything.
