With the fourths in the beginning, it's easier if you simply take the bottom note with the left hand and play parallel minor thirds in the LH with single notes in the RH.

I've never tried that, I'm going to give that a go.

I just purchased this lecture and paused it and practised along throughout the entire video. It was a great 2 hour practise session and very effective! There were some great tips in there, thanks Josh :) hopefully this will improve my coming performance! 🎼

My late great pianist instructor begged the universe that one day I would learn to play piano. I started off by playing Fur elise but later on dropped my drive to learn and realized that I was not anadextrious nor could I coordinate my brain to think I was. This was the main reason I quit practicing. :(

For the 4ths in the beginning, I know another fingering. It is 2-1, 3-1, 4-2, 5-1, 4-2, 5-1, and 4-2. If you can't do the 2-1, and 3-1 at the beginning, since they both require the 1st finger, then you would go slowly on that, then gradually speed up on the 7 fourths. That is my thinking, but of course, everybody (almost) has their own way of thinking. Let's go for 1 million subs!

Hi Josh! this is Konrad Binienda from the Chopin Competition. I enjoy your video! This sound is really quiet for me for some reason (I can barely hear your voice in a quiet room at night) so maybe you could upload this again with a bigger volume? Best wishes!

mszonert Hi Konrad - thanks for your kindness. Try using headphones. Piano is a very difficult instrument to mic, especially with loud pieces. I could turn up the volume, but then the piano sound will distort

Excellent video, Josh. In the two chords with the fourths I play the E with left hand's second finger, and the f with the first, so the first chord is 2 and 4 in left hand, and 2 in right hand - and the second fourth is 1 and 3 in left hand, and 3 in right hand. The third chord I switch to 2 in left hand, and 2 and 4 in right hand, switching the middle voice from the left hand to right hand. I found this to be really smart, as you probably get an "aha!" feeling if you try it yourself, and it feels like fluid to play it like that. BUT, does this mess up the "voices"? Theoretically, it's a bit weird to suddenly change hand for a voice, but is it ok to do this if the fingering makes it technically easier? Cheers from Tore, Norway!

Wow. This is exactly what i did. I thought "aha!" as well when i figured out the smooth fingering!

Why should we pay to have a lesson from an unknown pianist when we can have many free tutorials from well known pianists.
