I agree with you. EoW is perfectly a Zelda game, I have no idea how someone could ascertain that it is not a traditional Zelda game! dungeons, gorons, zora, gerudo, maps, boss keys, Zelda, Link, different biomes!

It seems a lot of people didn't realize you can go in both left and right directions to scroll thru your echoes so you can go to the first echo all the way at the end faster. So if you are at the first echo you last used, scroll LEFT, and then you are at the end of the echo list right away than manually scrolling thru every single echo to get there.

I loved it, But I when it ended I felt like the game was only halfway through. The different Hyrule species and their locales are beautifully realised.

I powered link powers up. But I didnt once use a smoothie. Lol. That being said I usually dont in games when they give potions or things.

i did it the other way around, i used smoothies, but didn't upgrade swordfighter mode at all 😄

What annoys me about the framerate is that Link's Awakening, using the same engine, had the exact same issues. They just don't care.

5:51 i made it a point not to use the might crystals until presented with a need to. changed my mind once the credits rolled 😄 while not necessary to beat the game, the upgrades really helped with 100%-ing the dojo.

I really enjoy this creator’s personality and think she does an amazing job with her commentary and the way she executes her videos. That said, I just came here because of the title to share my thoughts! Claiming Zelda ‘returned to the classics’ feels like a steep claim and false advertising lol. For me, a true return to classic Zelda would mean more than just bringing back dungeons; it’s about finding items in those dungeons and not relying on a mechanic that replaces the need for items altogether. Either way, the title worked-I clicked, I commented, but didn’t actually watch the review!

If you want to quickly get to new echo, click left on d-pad instead of the normal click right on the d-pad. The smoothie itself is good, you can make recovery hearts, resist hot/cold/reduce damage and sword form energy recharge. What’s bad is the process of cooking the smoothie takes forever and can make in stacks. But overall good game and great change of style from traditional 2d overhead game.

I'm apparently over 40+ hrs playing this game... cuz after I beat it last weekend, I am still playing it... I am not trying to 100% it but at the sametime, I kinda can't stop playing it.. and yes, Link to the Past is where it all stems from IMO as that game got me into Zelda seriously back in the day. I really enjoyed playing as Zelda, and her unique approach to solving problems over Link, even though I may still prefer to play as Link in general. Yes the Smoothies were a huge waste of time to me, never used them for anything than 1 or 2 quests that require I make one.

I'd love to see the original Zelda remade in this style! Also an over the shoulder view option could be really cool! Just a thought lol.

After this I want Nintendo to remake/remaster A Link Between Worlds. If they put it on the Switch 1 or 2 doesn't matter. I do want them to keep the original graphics style though.

10:11 i didn't really notice much framerate stuff in EoW myself (i played in handheld mode though, if that matters), but it is kind of disappointing when first party games made for a specific console obviously push the console past its limits (example: the first sky islands i encountered in TotK had me worried the whole game was going to be kind of choppy). i mean, you'd think nintendo would be keen on not drawing attention to the limitations of their hardware. but this isn't a new phenomenon either, i guess. i remember the link's awakening (GB) final battle with the nightmares was pretty laggy, for example 😅

Strangely Josie, I’ve never noticed the frame rate issue. But I admit the echo menu is a hassle! I’m not sure how, but Nintendo needs to streamline that menu.

Dang, I never thought I would hear that. Are there more people that feel like this? I honestly preferred links awakening. I don’t think Echoes of Wisdom is a bad game, and I enjoy it, but I haven’t been glued to it. I have to force myself to play it.

As a lifetime Zelda fan, I love the scope of the open world… but Nintendo seems to have trouble delivering an experience of that scope while also ensuring that it is bursting at the seams with personality

@Level_Eleven i like the dungeons. They have more personality than hundreds of shrines. Then make a sequel of the exact same thing was the reason I didn't care for the games

She lost me when saying A Link to the Past is WAY BETTER than Ocarina of Time 😂. Even if it is it's better or ur preferred game it's not WAY better than OOT. 1. OOT is a 10 out of 10. 2. Calling one better than the other at all is ridiculous when one's a 2D game and 3D game. 3. OOT and ALTTP are both great so neither game is WAY better than the other.

I don't get why one game can't be better than the other because one's 2D and the other 3D. I never got into Ocarina of Time because it looked so much worse than A Link to the Past even back in the day and the controls didn't seem as polished. Link to the Past graphically aged a lot better but it's all subjective in the end.
