I see no NEUTRAL here! This is typical of older houses for lighting here in the UK. Most home automation units are aimed at the USA market which DO have a NEUTRAL line in a lighting circuit. I have tested a couple of these units and found they either don't work at all, or work erratically. Notice that the manufacturer specifies a NEUTRAL so you can't complain to them if you try to use the device without one.

Neutral was coupled together at a junction which needed to be attached with a cable that was provided... Extension to house was built 3 years ago. I just couldn't fit it in the hole!

Does it work? I am looking to buy a sonoff light switch but have read the following -'Where your N from your wall connects to N1 on your switch replace that with an earth wire and connect it to the metal box in your wall So it should look like this ( Earth wire from metal box in the wall to N on the switch) then take the N wire from the wall and connect it to the L1 out on the switch and your Live wire to L In on the switch' Will this work?

Hi, because I could not get it into the gap I never wired it up but I see no reason why it should not work.

The loops from the coms to the switch in the old switch, why are they needed?.you obviously didnt need to copy that over to the new switch, is it because the new one only needs one source of live (L)
