Oh my gosh..made my first pillow cover using this stitch. So easy. But instead of making 2 ( a front and back), I opted to make one very long piece, adding extra length to create a fold over flap. I single crocheted the edges for a nice finish. Then I single crocheted the back sc loop of front of pillow to front sc loop of back of pillow. Made a beautiful edge. Somehow it worked out. Thank you for your great instructions.

Finished making this today. It was my first pillow. I have made other items. Beautiful easy stitch however it did stretch out and luckily i had an 18" form to fill it. My advice would be keep an eye on the stretch of your particular yarn. Live and learn

Hey what a beautiful pillow! I would like to recreate it but i'm not sure on how i would wash the pillow case if i close all four sides with single crochets?
@jototheworldcreations Жыл бұрын
Thank you! For this pattern, you can wash it with a cloth or you can soak it in water and lay flat to dry. I have other pillow cover patterns that are removable but wanted to keep this one as easy as possible for beginners :)

If I were to make this a different size, do I need to end my chain on an even or odd number?
@jototheworldcreations Жыл бұрын
Hello! You can adjust the width by making more or less starting chains in multiples of 2 + 1 (an odd number).

My pillows come out lopsided and loose at the corners with the pillow inserts. Any suggestions? Nice video! Looking forward to more designs of yours. The paw print! Nice pet gift!!!!
@jototheworldcreations2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! You can try using a smaller hook if they are too big for the insert. Also, they shouldn’t be lopsided as each row has the same number of stitches. Have you been counting your stitches? Thanks so much for the kind words and I hope you enjoy making more of my patterns!

I notice you Yarn Under when pulling up a loop. You don’t mention that here or in the pattern linked. I’ve read that doing that will make the stitches a bit tighter. Do you think that is key to getting this look? Would it make much difference if you always Yarn Over?
@jototheworldcreations6 ай бұрын
Hello! No, you're not supposed to yarn under. When I first started doing video tutorials, I accidentally yarned under. My apologies for the confusion. You should just crochet normally and always yarn over when pulling up a loop. :)

How many would I cast on for. 20 x 20 pillow. I want to cover an existing pillow
@jototheworldcreations2 ай бұрын
Hello! Each panel is made from the chain row up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. You can adjust the width by making more or less starting chains in multiples of 2 + 1 (which means you’ll need an odd number of starting chains). You can adjust the height by making more or less rows. I don't have the exact number of chains to make the pillow a different size as I've only designed, made and tested this pillow with the size listed in the pattern. You are welcome to experiment with a different number of chains using the multiple of starting chains provided above :)

When finishing the last row for the 1st panel do i slip stich to close off ?
@jototheworldcreations9 ай бұрын
After the last row of the first panel, fasten off, which means to cut the yarn from your skein and pull the end through the loop that was on your hook and pull tight. Hope this helps.

After Row 2, the pillow width should measure approx 16.5” (it should grow to 17” after Row 8). Row 3 and on: Repeat Row 2 until your pillow height is 17” (approximately 49 rows). Hope this helps!

Good morning , I have a question I reading up on the stitch pattern lemon peel stitch it has to be done in an even number setting when I did the foundation chain up to 57 for some reason I don’t end with a dc stitch and I am also skipping that first stitch working from hook I end off in sc stitch towards end. Is it something I am doing wrong maybe.
@jototheworldcreations4 ай бұрын
Hello! After making 57 chains, make a single crochet in the second chain from the hook. In the next chain, make a double crochet. You'll now have 54 chains left. For the rest of the row, repeat: single crochet in the next chain, double crochet in the next chain. Your second last stitch should be a single crochet in the second last chain. Your last stitch should be a double crochet in the last chain. Hope this helps!
@kyonnal11034 ай бұрын
Perfect everything is looking good now thank god. I do have one more question if I was to work in both the front and back loop after the foundation chain would that make a difference to how my pillow comes out. so when starting row 2 for example instead of working through just the back loop starting off row 1 could I start off row 1 working through both the front and back loop starting off that first sc stitch?
@jototheworldcreations3 ай бұрын
Hi! Just to clarify, you only work into the back ridge loop on Row 1. For Row 2 and on, you will work normally into the top two loops. Hopefully that helps!

Is it okay if I do less chains to make my work shorter? It keeps getting so large! Like 45 chains?
@jototheworldcreations6 ай бұрын
Sure! Each panel is made from the chain row up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. You can adjust the width by making more or less starting chains in multiples of 2 + 1 (which means you'll need an odd number of starting chains). How do I cut and weave in all the loose ends once I finish a panel?
@jototheworldcreations6 ай бұрын
Hello! You can fasten off by cutting your yarn from the skein, leaving about an 8" tail. Then using a yarn needle, weave that tail into the back of the panel, hiding and securing it into stitches. You can watch my Beginner Baby Blanket video tutorial at 1:00:40: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYOWoJxqad-soLs which shows how or there are lots of specific video tutorials if you search on KZbin for "how to weave in ends crochet." Hope this helps!
