Megan keep fighting the good fight. It is day 189 of this year and in my techo. Without you and your channel I'd have no idea what a techo even is. I'm still grinding out this A6 because I feel like I've crossed the Rubicon. I can't wait to bump up to an A5. In my psychology notebook I've started doing a monthly reflection session where I read through the techo and my notebook and reflect on the completed month. Victories, failures, trials, struggles, etc. Your content and style are dope. You're making a difference whether you realize it or not. Keep going off Queen, whenever you feel like you can.

Ooh also along those lines, if you like mystery/crime tv series, I suggest looking into Nordic noir shows. They can be a bit slow moving, but the plots\storylines are so good compared to the very formulaic US shows like CSI etc. and are usually pretty moody. I love hearing the Nordic/Scandinavian languages & the subtitles keep me from looking at my phone while I watch. One of the more popular ones is The Bridge. My favorites are also Trapped, The Cliff/The Lava Field, Deadwind, & Bordertown and are good places to start if you’re interested!

I love the movie Only Lovers Left Alive. It’s about vampires, and is very atmospheric (some might say gloomy!) and it doesn’t take itself super seriously but is somehow very horrifying in its own way. It’s also quite slow in the way it unfolds. But I love it and have watched it so many times.

I love that TK Maxx is on it with halloween already! I was just there today and dropped £55 on stuff. They’ve got these gorgeous food storage containers, white with black bats or skulls, and black with white skulls, one is a large soup mug, the other is like a small dish, the quality is outstanding! They’ve got microwaveable lids, they can go in the oven and dishwasher and they like etched on, rather than paint or print. My favourite horror is Dog Soldiers, it’s low-budget, classic British witty one-liners, and the accents remind me of home, I believe one guy is from Sheffield and one guy is from Middlesbrough.

My husband has always liked scary films (I never got into it because I had very vivid nightmares for a good chuck of my high school years, due to depression) and got me watching them when we got together. Generally speaking I'm not particularly excited to see any horror movies but I will say I did actually enjoy Deliver Us From Evil and The Invitation. I tend to be more okay with suspense/thriller and less into gore. Oh, we did recently watch the original Japanese The Ring and I'd give it a thumbs up. I hope the weirdness flares down soon and thank you for pushing through and making videos. I know we're all rooting for you ❤🩹

Favourite comfort horror movie (lol never thought I'd say comfort horror) is definitely the first Conjuring! I loved that film so much and Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are chef's kiss! I think one of the scariest for me, personally, is Annabelle: Creation. Arguably, one of the best in the Conjuring universe and defo the best Annabelle film. I also adore The Ring (2002)! Kind of miss early 2000's horror. Oooo I definitely need to mention Deliver Us From Evil with Eric Bana! Such an underrated horror film and tbh I wish there were more horror/detective/mystery films and Eric Bana in this was amazing!

I love horror movies as well and just about once a week my sister, their friend, and I FaceTime each other and watch horror movies together. Ngl I have a an ongoing list of my fav horror movies cause it’s so hard to choose just one 😫 but a couple of my favs are - Incantation - Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum - Hell House: LLC - The Ring (2002) - The Descent - Silent Hill (2006) - Noroi: The Curse I constantly go back to these movies and I see them as my comfort horror movies if that makes sense. My sister and I are actually trying to collect the physical copies of our fav horror movies from thrift stores. I especially love when there is like little pamphlets and adverts inside the DVD cases it’s like a little time capsule! Horror and physical media are like 2 of my top special interests at the moment and I love that I can combine the two ❤

Hi Megan! I hope your health issues get better soon! They sound horrible. You’re very strong for dealing with all that. My favorite scary movies are mostly the older classic ones. I’m not brave enough for the realistic modern ones lol. I really like Night of the Living Dead. Also, it’s not a horror movie, but the original Godzilla movie is kinda spooky and has themes of doom and fear throughout the whole movie. Also, if you’ve never watched it (I suggest because you mentioned you get tired sitting through full movies), the original Twilight Zone show is perfect for sometimes spooky, otherworldly vibes. And each episode is only like 25 mins long.

Ooooo I've been on a kick lately with atmospheric/mellow-ish horror, especially haunted house stuff (like Amityville Horror, The Conjuring, etc etc). I think some of these are in the same vein and are pretty overlooked: The Nesting (1981), Ghost Story (1981) and Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971). Honorable mention to The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) it's more of a thriller but the vibe is right!

One of my favorite movies of all time is Annihilation. It's definitely less gloomy and more existential horror. horror movie rec time!! (sorry for going overboard, i don't have any friends who like horror movies so all my recs are coming out here TT) - coraline (classic animation horror, love love love it!) - nope (horror, thriller, and everything in between, it's a doozy but it's so good!!) - last night in soho (time traveling horror, it's kind of messy but anya taylor joy is so good always) - the call (korean time-traveling horror/thriller, it's got an interest premise even if it isn't perfect) - detention (2019 taiwanese horror movie based on the video game of the same name, set in a historical period of martial law where the students are running from spooky ghosts) - marrowbone (a family trying to figure out what's going on with the presence haunting them in their childhood home; also a bit messy but i still really enjoyed it!) - crimson peak (period horror, the fashion and vibes of this one are immaculate) - housebound (a wonderful comedy horror about a woman trying to survive living with a ghost while on house arrest) - it follows (genuinely spooky premise about a ghost who will follow you until you pass it on to someone else, still gives me the creeps to this day) - stoker (more thriller than horror but it is, as my sister puts it, "sick and twisted" so it gets a mention; a strange girl tries to figure out why her unsettling uncle has shown up at her house on her 18th bday)

I'm very late to your comment question but, "Angel's Egg" is an 80's Anime Movie, kind of a gothic psychological horror that only has one scene of dialogue and revolves around a little girl in a bleak mysterious land filled with gothic castles and cities who carries around a large egg in hopes that one day it hatches. She meets a young man who decides to travel with her and tries to convince her that the egg will not hatch. It's really unsettling in a very intriguing way and hard to interpret with just one meaning! I definitely enjoyed it.

I have different horrors for different vibes; spooky horror, mystery horror, comedy nostalgia horror. Some of my favourites have already been mentioned; Dog Soldiers (doesn't get enough love imho!), the original Nightmare on Elm Street, The Craft, but I also love Sleepy Hollow, the original Candyman, the first Evil Dead, From Dusk Til Dawn, The Grudge, The Witch (2016) for spooky / what the hell is going on vibes, Gothika for a psychological horror and Return of the Living Dead (1985) for a camp horror comedy. The best horror tv series I've seen are the first season of American Horror Story and The Haunting of Hill House. Ash vs Evil Dead is good for a comedy horror / knows it's silly kind of show as well as the rest of the Evil Dead films. And Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness has strong 80's cult horror vibes and is directed or produced by Sam Reimi if you like that sort of thing.

Here's a list of horror movies I like: - A classic horror story on Netflix is very meta and fun in a slasher way. It's bad but in a good way. - Anything made by Darren Aronofsky : People mostly know about Black Swan but Mother is an absolute masterpiece. - Suspiria. Either the original one or the remake. - Crimson Peaks : It's not horror per se but the gothic atmosphere is really cool.

I have not seen a horror movie or series for a long time. Here is a list of movies I saw a long time ago but still enjoyed although I do not like horror and most likely you already saw all of them: From Hell (2001, Victoria-era London, Jack the Ripper, Johnny Depp) Green Room (2015, it's more horror in regards what people can do to someone, not supernatural) Pandorum (2009, Sci-Fi, a little bit body horror and being afraid of what lurks in the dark and of other people, space) Werewolf by Night (2022, I think you could enjoy this one, it's in black and white) Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010, a lot of blood, quite funny, no supernatural) Sleepy Hollow (1999, most likely you already know this movie, but it still has a great atmosphere, still enjoy it a lot) Death Becomes Her (1992, it's more comedy with body horror) Ghost Ship (2002, ghosts, ships on open sea, doesn't have great rating on IMDB, to me it was really creepy) Constantine (2005, Keanu Reeves, I would say one of his best roles , Lucifer was great, I enjoyed this movie very much) The Descent (2005, still creeps me out to this day! I do not like caves!) Final Destination (2000, good old fun) The Others (2001, Nicole Kidman, a really good movie!) The Cabin in the Woods (2011, supernatural, a lot of fun, I enjoyed this movie) The Pale Blue Eye (2022, Edgar Allen Poe adaption, I enjoyed the atmosphere, a movie with snow is always a winner for me, everything is better with snow) The Faculty (1998, great movie, body horror, Sci-Fi, teens, high-school) Disturbing Behavior (1998, another horror teen movie form my teen years) Fargo (1996, it's not really horror, more crime and mystery, but all the snow gives me life!) Snow White: A Tale of Terror (1997, MAYBE this one you do not know, If I'm lucky 😉, with Sigourney Weaver, a very dark Snow White adaptation) Hearing you talk about summer reminds me of my summer seasonal affective disorder. I'm not diagnosed officially but everything I read about it rings always 100% true to me. Just thinking about winter makes me happy!

I most definitely did not mute you. I liked listening to you while I did my weekly set up. Maybe try doing fortnightly Attic Archives, that way you have 2 weeks worth of stuff to include. But also don't push yourself, these videos are still heaps of fun to watch.

It's kind of terrible but, The Descent. I watched them forever ago with my sister and recently got in the mood to rewatch the first one and maybe I just have claustrophobia/ a fear of being buried alive, but my fiance and I were sitting there squeezing each others hands, it was just really nice cause I feel like I haven't been genuinely scared in so long. Also, this is an anime/manga so I don't know if it counts, Ghost Hunt. It's one of my all time favorites I reread/ rewatch it often.

My first ever horror movie was Village of the damned. And then Carrie. Recently I watched Fear street and liked it. But Inhabern seen insidious and I am not sure if I want to watch it. Generally I am not into horror movies although I am intrigued. Take care. You are doing the best you can and that is enough.

Oh and favorite horror films: The 1979 cult classic ALIEN. And maybe the first Scream film. That feels like more of a thriller/slasher than a horror film though.

Not a horror person but I really love the channel ScaredyCatsTV which specialises in funny reviews of horror movies. Maybe you'll like it too! As for spooky-but-not-horror movies, no one can top David Lynch in that regard imo. I watched Lost Highway recently and was delightfully distrubed by the movie. On a different note, I really admire that you keep posting these beatiful journaling vids even though you are stuggling with health isues. I hope it gets easier soon. Wishing you all the best!

I don't have any advice, unfortunately. But do know I'm sending you all my love, energy I'm able to pull together. I know it's not quite the same but it kind of reminds me of when I go to therapy. I try to record my days/take notes on how I'm feeling during these days but when it comes time to sit down with my therapist everything feels fine-ish in comparison. But as soon as I leave, my brain will be like, hey why didn't we talk about this. all this to say, wishing you all the best, don't forget to take some time to do something you love, if brain and spoons allow for it. sending all the love from a too hot Iowa

I don't like horror, but I have read a couple horror books, like T. Kingfisher's What Moves the Dead and These Hollow Places, and I've also read Cherie Priest's Maplecroft and Chapelwood duology and I enjoyed them

Awwww Wednesday, always nice to see her. Ironically (?) one of my favourite horror movies is 'The Fog'. I used to love the series 'Penny Dreadful' and the film 'Sleepy Hollow' plus all the classic old horror movies such as Dracula, Frankenstein & The Wolfman along with Alien and the Shinning. My favourite 'summer' film is Jaws which I think you could call horror and helps get me through. You keep looking forward to Halloween and before you know it summer will be done.
