Oh yes! I have been so disorganized in my thinking about my cover for my Ocean Eyes/mermaid journal..has so many thoughts and just left it to last. But watching you using materials that are so special to you, lit my fire on this subject! My grandmothers lace table cloth (100 years old) and some of my lace wedding table cloth (54 yr.) shells and sand $$, etc I have collected on the beaches where I have lived on the Gulf of Mexico each year, the Caribbean, Aruba, etc...I have jars and boxes full of goodies...like this journal I have put pieces together for many years, and now it the time to display it!! Your cover is personal, lovely, original, and a work of art that is meaningful!! Thank you for sharing this personal and gorgeous experience with us!! hugs.

Your signature cradle works perfectly 👏👏👏. I love that you have genuine beach finds, but yes it's sad how humans have treated the beautiful planet! Even clogging up the ocean with face masks! Great measuring tips, very helpful 😁. I'm so clumsy and have loads of cut and burn scars on my finger prints lol. Love that you use family treasures in your work. Wow!!! You hit the ball out of the ballpark. One thing for sure, I realized among many other processes, one has to be brutal with cutting, discoloring, if you want the old beautiful lacing, silk and wonderful old papers, to transform it into something else. I know I'm the last in line to realize this. If you can use your Grandma's silk as part of the process; then I am ready to dive beneath the ocean with all its creations as well. I sent my husband's ashes into the Pacific off the West Coast of B.C. where he charted for 10years. Now I am trying to wrap my head around my own ocean journal. Ready to try any thing. I have your Ocean Eyes papers among other things. Thank so much for going over the spine part as I sliced right through my original old book cover as I took out the pages. I would love see your journal again, please. A treasure.

WOW Luize - this is a very impressive cover, very dimensional and creative! I love it that you used real-world found materials. I'm not sure how I feel about the lace, but the changes you made to it worked out beautifully. In the end this is really an art book - a very creative work of art, filled with beautiful images and lovely tactile experiences!!

I most say I have a issue with journal covers, generally. There are of course some journals I just “ wouw” but it is not often. This is my taste. We are different people and have different taste and like art, 👩🏻‍🎨 you can’t say what is right or wrong..you know what I mean, I think 🙂 Often covers are to kitschy after my taste and I have difficulties with making it and it ends of blank. It is a area I am personally are working with. Right now I makes BIG tags I can use for the covers and I can now try to work the same way on the covers 📙. I am telling all this because I know there are a lot who has the same problem as I. 👍😀 👩🏻‍🎨 But……. Your COVER IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PERFECT AWESOME OUTSTANDING BEAUTIFUL 😍 😍 👏👏👏❤️❤️ I love everything about it. The colors are so pretty and I can’t take my eyes 👀 from it. Hallo! I watched your “inchies” video last night and I just love how those pages turned out. I’m just getting into junk journaling, and you’ve inspired me to start working with digital ephemera. Can you share what type of printer you are using when you print your papers? I would think inkjet printed papers would bleed when using Modpodge.

It's an HP inkjet printer. The reason why your ink is bleeding when using mod Podge: wrong paper. I am using matte photo paper. No problems with any kind of medium on top
