I know you said you don't believe the majority of your audience would care for this sort of content, Emily, but I just want you to know that this is EXACTLY the kind of video that brings me joy. Journaling is also a huge part of my life (for at least ten years now) and watching other people and the way they format their journals, as well as seeing your incredible stationery collection, is just so aesthetically pleasing and provides me with so many more ideas! I, unfortunately, haven't had the chance to journal in three months because of college, but I would love to implement some of your methods. So, thank you! I enjoyed the heck out of this. ❤
@guardianofthehill7 ай бұрын
Journalling was never really my style, since my days were often rather uneventful in the past, but since February of this year, I've actually commited myself to writing a daily journal (both digitally and in book form). And I've noticed that journalling really helps in many ways. It relieves stress, helps me deal with overwhelming emotions, gives me a lot of inspiration and is a good way of learning to appreciate the little things in life I often would forget about otherwise. So I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, age or general background!

im in a similar situation where i have pretty uneventful days, but unlike you i still am unable to start a journal cuz i don’t have many stationary supplies and struggle to think of what to write 😭
@ume_bume7 ай бұрын
@@queenxtaco Same. But for me, I don't know where to buy the stationery. I haven't seen any interesting ones in my country's bookstores. And for the writing part, i'm just very bad at it. The creative writing is one of my biggest weaknesses.
@gmaster2577 ай бұрын
I personally keep a completely digital journal that is completely in plain text files. There's very little creativity visually-speaking, but it's what works for me. I think journaling can take many different forms, so it's about experimenting with different styles and settling on what works for you personally.

@fwoop48487 ай бұрын
Nah don’t worry about needing that much dedication to it. I only journal once or twice a month to get all my thoughts out and that’s enough for me personally. It depends how eventful your life is, and more importantly a journal is supposed to be for yourself, so it’s up to you when you want to write.

I started a journal 2 days ago inspired by your stationary video. I ended up picking the same type of notebook as you use. I was never any good at making anything anyone could consider "art" so I never tried to get better at it. I am attempting to turn my blank notebook into something beautiful that also documents my life. I have tried journaling in the past but it was very clinical, I would write exactly 5 events each day and never how they made me feel. I guess I wanted to avoid anything cringy in the event someone found it or something. Thanks for giving an engineering student with the artistic talents of a pair of damp socks the inspiration to actually try doing something art related for the first time since elementary school. Its been nice

I’ve been Journaling for 7 years and 8 months now. I’ve never missed a day since. During my sophomore year in high school they got rid of planners which I thought was stupid. So I bought a Journal to write down my homework for each class. Slowly along the line I just ended up writing down small things that happened. Eventually paragraphs and now pages… I love journaling, I want to keep doing it until I die. It’ll be something I can leave behind for my family or future kids to read.

for glueing stuff that's pretty on both sides (like fanart with a letter writen on the back) you could try adding paper hinges - just take a smaller piece of paper, fold it in half and glue one side to the thing you want to put into your journaling and the other side of the paper hinge to your journal. If the thing you want to place in your journal is bigger use more paper hinges 😊

I myself started falling in love with journaling around late last year, doing little spreads/scrapbooking and actually using my stationary goods instead of hoarding them. Before I would just write blocks of text which can be quite tedious to look at or sit down to write it, even simple pops of color by using of highlighters or washi tape really stepped up the game for me. At the end of the day, journal should be what makes you happy ^^ I really like this longer form of videos, definitely a chill way to journal along myself!

Pro scrapbooker tip: when you mention not wanting to glue over fan letters, you can use photo corners to paste them into your journal. That way it’s removable and you can still pull it out and look at it quite easily! I use photo corners for photos I only will ever have one copy of (old family photos) postcards I receive, or letters from friends. I don’t know where to buy them in Japan but they are readily available at most craft stores in the states. Adhesive photo corners!

The bit with fanart with letters on the back reminds me of how I would tear out pages, fold/cut them in half, and tape them onto another page to make it a folder. I felt the same way too Emirichu! I did thrown away my journals experience of living in America from Puerto Rico. I even thrown away my Puerto Rican experience as a little kid (born and raised in Boricua) to when I left Puerto Rico. I understand why I throw those journals away because It was dealing with abuse with my mother and it hurts me so bad that I didn't recognize i was abuse that I destroyed all my journals thinking i was so stupid back then (now I horribly regretting it). I picked up journaling 2 years ago and started put many things that I have grown out of and how I healed from the many things I felt self cautious or insecure about. I am black individual so I filled my journal with amazing and rare artistry of other black artists on my pages that give me inspiration. Everytime I looked back on my new journals, I felt inspired and beyond "space and time" feeling. I called my journals Growth and Explore so I don't ever have to feel less than by ANYBODY ever again. I am grateful for that. To be honest Emirichu, I'm actually Daidus fan and when I first met you, I didn't like you at all until my boyfriend said 'No. She's actually act exactly like you so therefore you don't like this aspect of yourself.'
