i love this! one thing i would add is to not give up - if you miss a day it isn’t the end of the world. and if journaling every day doesn’t work for you, maybe it’s just not for you. maybe you only need to journal once a month or something like that. but if you’re committed to starting a daily practice, don’t let forgetting a day make you give up completely!!

I think this is a really great point, and I thought the same thing. I totally understand the benefit and the intention of saying "I will write every single day," but for people such as myself that have diagnosed OCD or are just perfectionists, this can set us up for failure. Ex: "Ugh, I missed two days in a row, so I failed. I give up." Like I said though, I think it's wonderful to set goals and intentions and totally understand Elena's thought process on that.

I love journaling but I struggle to discipline myself to stay consistent 😅
@szakbernadett256 ай бұрын
What helped me was that I looked for different questions on pinterest and answered one or two every day. After a few weeks, it became a part of my everyday routine and helped me to stay consistent and come up with my own ideas. Hope this helps❣

Im obsessed with how you journal, cannot wait for my journalling to look cute too! Also thanks for the reminder to start the artists way again :)
@plan4lifeАй бұрын
The thing is there are many types of journalling. I journal every day and am on year 2 of my 5 year diary, but it is just a simple account of what I do day to day, there isn’t room for much more. So what you are talking about is a manifestation journal, so not an account of what you have done, but instead a projection of what you want to do. But you can have a health journal, an emotional journal, a travel journal, an art journal, a sticker journal, a scrap journal or countless other types of journal. I personally find these other types of journalling hard to maintain with any sort of regularity and, being of an older generation, I guess that has to do with the importance I place on doing these things. But I like the idea of a manifestation journal, I have manifested many, many things into my life so it would be nice to have a sort of record of what I wanted vs. what I actually got.

Thank you for the reminder that journals can be both messy and beautiful! I mentioned that in my own journaling evolution video a while ago but today I was feeling some anxiety and overwhelm and just needed the reminder from someone else, so thank you for being that person to help me calm down out of my anxiety. Appreciate you!

A journal can just be a cheap notebook. Personalise it by adding stickers, or print out favourite pictures from Pinterest, or even doodle and colour on it if you are a bit artsy. And get some clear film to cover it and in no time you will have a very personal journal you will LOVE to write in. This is so much more personal and appealing than getting over obsessed with having the best notebook and then not wanting to spoil it by writing in it!
