Oh hi again! It's been a long time! I remember subscribing for your peaceful bible readings, especially out in nature like when you did the bible reading at 5 am on a beautiful early morning. Your bible looks amazing and it's obvious that you really take it seriously. I'd love to see more readings like that if you ever feel like it again. :)

Great video, sister. I came for the dumbphone review and left a sub awhile back. Today, I scroll and see this gem. I can't wait to hear of the blessings and enrichment you will get from Bible college. Remember, it's faithfulness over results. It certainly shows in your Bible. I can't wait to use mine like how you used yours. Blessings!

Also, I agree with your point about the ESV being a modernized KJV. It really reads very similarly. That's why I like to use NASB. I like how they do their own thing sometimes. Still, I was trained with KJV and ESV. Still, NLT is great. Consider this my vote for a Bibles video.

Thanks for sharing this, I subscribed to you when I was first investigating digital minimalism and finding your video on Dumb Phones, it's a delight to see you pop in my subscriptions now and again. I have also been slowly making my way through the Old Testament and have been on a Nephilim kick the past year so that's neat to see you have marked all of those passages lol

since you seem to know your bible. is there an edition of the bible with all the books removed by the church like Enoch in it that would be a direct translation from aramaic ?
@theliopleurodon4 ай бұрын
You probably won't be able to find a good one as most of them would be really modern if they're translated from aramaic into English. You'd better off getting one translated from the original languages. I think in Ethiopia (maybe??) Uses a Bible with the Book of Enoch still included so maybe you can look for that. However you can buy them separately, for example I've got a book which has the books of Enoch and some others like the gosepl of Jude and Mary. Hope you find what you're looking for. God bless 🙏

What are your thoughts on the Eastern Orthodox Church?
@theliopleurodon4 ай бұрын
I don't know loads about it but from what I've heard they're very different to western churches and have a big emphasis on tradition and early churches/fathers. There's a few things I'd disagree with them with theologicially

As an atheist, why do people believe in god(s)?
@thuiop23454 ай бұрын
Because in every human there remains the infantile instinct of turning to a higher authority to have his problems resolved. Also because humans are afraid that after life there will be nothingness/void and therefore they prefer there to be something good or bad wathever.
@karolina88234 ай бұрын
As a Catholic, at first, when I was a child, I believed because I was raised that way (which is not bad - similarly, we are taught about gravity, the planets that we cannot see, etc.). Then, I had a crisis of....maybe not faith, but I didn't do what the Church said and that was because I've been exposed to many misconceptions about my faith and I didn't have a role model that I would look up to. Also, Catholicism (and other Christian denominations) are not really welcome in our culture, so following the culture I lived in was easier than preserving my faith. And now I believe, because I've seen literal miracles and I cannot deny them. Also, when some things (from the Bible, for instance) were explained to me, everything started to link. So....now I believe because I know it's true.
@Wobble20072 ай бұрын
Because it answers the question of why are we here, for a start, but it's a big question, maybe start reading the Bible and see if it answers your questions.
