As a singer myself, looking back and minding Journey's songs, Open Arms is a song that is too difficult to sing. Altho it is quite simple to listen but the variation of the notes is hard to sing if the singer isn't methodical. I never heard someone sings this pc as perfect as close of Steve Perry as Arnel. I heard his 2008 version and I had a goosebumps and even cried. Open Arms in that moment when Arnel sung it, my high school days started to get back in memory one by one. My huge respect to Arnel. He gave me back some memories of my teenage life that I cherished through the years adding that watching a drummer having a solo do amazed me. I once part of a big band and a solo drums always been the highlight of our show every night as he was blindfolded while doing his thing on the drums. W/ that everyone couldn't help but to stopped whatever they're doing and watched and this is why I stopped too from leaving this video. At his age, it's a wow!

While watching the couple up front I noticed a dramatic arc unfolding through out the show. During the climax of don't stop believin', she leans over to her bf/husband and says I love you and gives him a peck. Then at the end of the show, Jonathon Cain tosses a pick right in front of them and the security guy picks it up and hands it to them. Certainly, a night to remember! Journey and Arnel sound great! I was blessed to get free tickets 6th row center for one of their limited shows at the HR. Seeing them do Frontiers and Escape back to back was insane! Next to seeing them with SP Frontiers tour this was most memorable show.

there are a few racist haters out there. SP separated from the band and declined any reunion. SA replaced him till he can't sing anymore. The band looked for a new singer and found AP and several others for an audition. Journey selected AP for his legacy voice not to be another SP but a voice that can command their music going forward. one day AP can't sing these song anymore then the band will look for another singer. Same comparison will be made again between the next generation and the previous. Just embrace the music and the band.
