Journey Of John - NitPix Short

John is a loser from Peckham, he's stuck in a dead end job and his life doesn't mean anything. But when he's told he's the chosen Starchild everything changes.
We tried to make a 2 minute sketch but accidentally made a 7 minute short film. This is what we've been working on over the summer, let us know your thoughts (worked really hard on it so NO HATE PLEASE)
This British comedy short film is written and directed by Max Bardsley and Samuel Jones (NitPix and Bleeding On The Page Podcast). It was made as part of a competition for The Comedy Crowd Chorts.

I think all of us, the viewers, are represented in John. We seek excitement to escape our mundane lives, and are given hope in the form of a strange new development. Finally, after an absurd commitment, the final product turns out to be nothing but a sick joke. This video is the equivalent of a homeless man showing off his shit.

I feel like this short was a social experiment to determine how many subscribers would call out this script for what it is and how many others would pass it off as great metaphorical writing all based on the idea that the channel is continuously analysing film and show know exactly how to produce a great short.

I thought the cinematography was great, the acting was serviceable, the story was predictable for me but not bad, and the music was enjoyable and fit the accompanying shots very well. Overall, I enjoyed this short story.

This is actually Max dealing with a breakup. See Torboo is a representation of his girlfriend taking him out of his job, him sacrificing his time, even employment to follow her on a journey to which he was the special one. Then instead of a beautiful relationship he just got to deal with all her shit and told to fuck off when he didn't want it. He doesn't miss the girl, just the fact he wasted the journey on her. (all bullshit, but it almost sounds like it works, and that's all that matters...)
