Videos were new at this time. We didnt need a wild video, and everyone was so talented, all was needed was the musicians and their instruments and a " lets gooooo." And we went.

This video was shot on the Mississippi River in New Orleans, the building is one of the warehouses right on the river. The girl was a student at Tulane University at the time. This is one of the warehouses that burned down right after Katrina.

Also try "Dont. Stop Believing" also by Journey. Steve Perry was mega talented and took extreme care of his voice. They now have a new vocalist. I dont remember his name but he sounds just like Steve Perry.

"Interesting bass"...it was a Steinberger...they were fairly popular in the early/mid 80's. For example, if you look up Rush videos from the mid-80's, you'll see Geddy Lee playing one. He started playing one after he used Rickenbacker basses and before he switched to Wal basses. (Side note: I know someone who has three Steinberger instruments...and, yes, it might be me.)

Journey broke up. Steve Perry went solo. Schon and Cain formed Bad English. Ross Valory and Rolie formed The Storm. The current lineup still has Cain and Schon. The current lead singer is Arnel Pineda. Schon discovered him , singing in a band in The Philippines 🇵🇭. Being a songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist myself, l think Journey was a great band with great musicianship. I personally had the opportunity and good fortune to meet and talk to the Drummer Steve Smith in person at a drum seminar. Very nice guy.

Modern Drummer once voted Steve Smith into their top 25 drummers of all time. I agree. The guy he followed, Aynsley Dunbar is an absolute monster, too.

Good high energy song but definitely check out more Journey to get a full picture of the band/Steve Perry's vocals incredible. vocals. Next I suggest thier songs Faithfully, Mother Father, Open Arms and more. You wont regret it. Steve Perry sounds amazing live he doesn't need any vocal filters or autotune garbage.

Journey had 3 albums before the release of "Infinity" and the introduction of Steve Perry. Try something from their 3rd album "Next". Don't get me wrong, Journey with Steve Perry is great but it will show you the contrast of the direction they took. Personally, I prefer the first 3 albums. I did get to see them in Toronto with SP just before the release of "Infinity", awesome show!!!
