You need to be aware of a couple of things when you arrive at Athens airport and make your way to Athens. If it is raining there is more than a 90% chance the train will stop half way as the rain effects the rail way track, it happened to us, and then you will have to make your way to Athens by taxi. If you take a taxi, the 50 euro fee only will get you to Syntagma square. Now, just remember, you are in Greece, it is not a case of if you will get ripped off, because you, will, it is not a case of when, because it is going to happen. It is a case of how much and how often.

Thanks for the tips. Luckily we didn’t experience anything like that in Greece. We only used a taxi once, but got it through Uber, so it was on the up and up.
