I loved Perry's voice and saw him perform, with Jourbey and solo, incredible, but you also gotta SHOW LOVE TO ....ARNEL, he has a beautiful voice and got discovered being a big Journey/Perry fan. Not many people can sing Journey/Perry very long. I love that we get to still hear them perform and make music, what are they supposed to give up the love of their lives(music) because Perry's no longer with them, that is ridiculous, keep Rocking, they still sell out all over the place, so they are doing something right. Their sound team is inconsistent with the levels and people are noticing. For anyone that hasn't seen Dont Stop Believing, it is a great story and very inspiring., My special needs son loves Arnel & Perry and has sang journey at quite a few weddings. He doesn't judge, he just loves music... Music should definitely Units us. Much love, life is to short so let's just enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing your nicely taken video of Journey--I love it!! This Concert looks amazing!! Goosebumps performance of AP!~! AP has that tenor unique masculine voice that has a natural rasp that makes it amazing !! He masters the song perfectly and is able to sing like in-studio recording while he is doing Concerts on LIVE---night after night!!! AP"s vocal versatility, talent, and unbelievable energy are the fuel that keeps the Journey Concert rocking for many years!! Can't wait to see Journey Concert with AP again--SOON!!

Why do people compare and complain... You either love them and listen to them, or hate them and don't listen to them. Looks like the fans are enjoying it... Remember these guys are not young anymore, and they have to do (solos), or whatever it takes to continue performing... Just grab a drink and listen to them or shut down your computer.......

When they started playing Only The Young, it was the first time I heard drummer, Steve Smith play it, and it had that "signature" Journey sound that we heard on the albums he played on. Mike Baird did an excellent job recording, but Steve has that "sound". It's a treat to hear Steve play it!

Ok. Right Steve Perry has the voice for sure -- but c'mon- He was a horses ass back in the day. My brother and I finally scraped the bread together (we were affected by the '82 recession) to see Journey in concert back in '86. But found out Steve was instrumental in getting rid of Steve Smith and Ross V. As die hard fans we were pissed that they were replaced with session musicians. Arnel is the closest to even get near Steve which is really tough. But if you're a big fan and could try to pull it off-- would you jump at the chance? I say hell yeah you would.

They are great now.. But, I was there for Escape, Frontiers, Raised on Radio. They captured (pun intended) the esscence of the moment in the 80's, it was live, they were so young, hungry. It was raw = less tech then. More analog , beginning of the digital age late 80's. Steve Perry created his own Passion and poured his heart into the created parts. Now, it is a reproduced next to great version of the original. Now, with technology its over produced too. I am an active gigging drummer. Love Steve Smith. Just my opinion above.

The problem I have with this rendition of Journey is they have not had any hit albums since Steve Perry was forced out of the band. Their worst albums are before, and after Steve. That's not just my opinion, that is based on Billboard ratings, low album sales, and low airplay. I have nothing but praise for Arnel, and the haters should leave him alone. He is a great singer, and performer, but the band as a whole is lacking in the hit song department.
@JOHNNYSGIRL19606 жыл бұрын
sz22ff01 Thank you for saying forced out of the band. People don't realize that Steve was essentially given an ultimatum and the only thing he could do was go away from Journey after they already auditioned singers behind his back.

I have always admired this band. But it is clear that Arnel is very worn, each song in a lower tone of the original and almost agonizing by the effort. The years do not go in vain. Already as a band they have lost the power that characterized them.

@dnbot8446 жыл бұрын
I don't know why ppl complain about the solos. I heard this gripe before the concert and expected some long drawn solos which I might agree. It was nothing like that and fit well into lead in's to the next song. Btw, La-do-da traditionally has a drum solo in it (since Capture and well probably since Infinity was released) and would had felt cheated if Steve did not perform his awesome solo. You started with the criticism that AP voice is shredded well why in the world do you think they have these solos? It so to give the singer a break, drinks some water, rest the pipes. Besides solos and talented musicians who can play their own instruments go hand in hand and should be showcase. Heck Peter Frampton's career jump-started on that concept alone. Please stop with negative waves.

The only thing good about Journey now in 2018, and has been a constant in Journey is Neal Schon. The live performances on this tour sound tired, lazy and like they're just going through the motions like a traveling jukebox. I never warmed to Arnel. He has no stage presence and Neal should have stuck with Jeff Scott Soto after Augeri left. I guarantee Neal would rather be playing "Of a Lifetime" and old school Journey songs with Gregg Rolie at the Fillmore in San Francisco than this boring, generic "Greatest Hits" package.
