I took the time to watch the whole video. I don’t know if I am stupid or not because I really have difficulty making sense out of it. 1/ The guy called himself Abduweli. He first appeared in the video saying he was a teacher teaching local language. He got arrested because the local language is banned and he got arrested. And later in the video he said he was a writer and a scholar ??? 2/ To my knowledge, teacher in China no matter where he is, he can speak his dialect and teach in his own dialect freely. They don’t get arrested. Hong Kong for example could still write complicated form of Chinese and speak Cantonese in School. Nobody get arrested. 3/ People has to understand that learning Mandarin is important to understand what’s going on in the country and get a reasonable job with good pay. This is common sense ! Do you expect a Chinese living in Nova Scotia Canada can survive without knowing English / French ? So learning Mandarin is for their own good unless you don’t want a future for your kids and family and continue to stay in poverty. This is why I think the video is misleading and confusing. And I am also surprised to see people justify and sympathize this complaint on Mandarin education? 4/ Abduweli was detainted in prison and I am surprised to hear that he said he is abused by killers and drug addicts instead of political prisoners ??? He probably forget those were political camps for re-education. He probably forget his script. Therefore, for some reasons I don’t trust what he said. 5/ it seems to me that the video want to convey a message saying that over one million Uyghurs are detained for no reason. And one of the actor ( oops sorry ) said that Chinese government want to destroy them. There is always a motive for doing something. I don’t see how can they justify their statement. Besides, if you can arrest anybody you like, why do the Chinese government need to recruit a spy as mentioned in the video. This is contradicting. 6/ If the prisons holding one million people, and the lady were held in prison for about 1.5 years and then released. I recently read the whole population in Xing Jiang province is about 8 million. If we deduct the elder and children under 18, maybe the active population is about at the most say 2/5 which is about 3.2 millions. According to this logic in approx. 8 years, this 3.2 population will go to prison twice !! 7/ I don’t know how those people in the video fled to Turkey so easily, and with passport ?? Why did the Chinese government give them passport in the first place ?? If you grand somebody a passport and I don’t see why there is a problem with renewing it ? It simply doesn’t make sense. 8/ If a huge population was detained in prison and after their release they can fled to Turkey or other countries so easily, the video mentioned those escaped from China and stayed in 2 villages with only a population of 1000+ each ?? Only 2000 dislike China ?! I thought there should be more than 100 thousand ...well somehow number does not add up. 8/ Abduweli said Chinese government want him to worship them as GOD. This statement is made for western people or religious people because westerners treasure religious freedom. As I don’t see it happens anywhere in China and I don’t see why they bother to do that in Xing Jiang. And it is very difficult and a lot of effort for Chinese officials in Xing Jiang to creat a GOD. Abduweli is a writer and scholar who opened up a school to teach the local language Uighur. In China, every area/ town/ district has their own dialect. In Hong Kong and Shanghai, it's Cantonese or a variation and in Xinjiang, it's the Uighur language. There's differ drastically from Mandarin so they're forced to learn Mandarin as part of school curriculum. And that's normal. But in Xinjiang, they want you to completely stop using Uighur, they want the language and culture demolished as it has Islamic roots.

The issuance of passports is questionable as its not the first time that passports have been given after a person has been in these camps. Also if you know and understand the CCP, you'd understand that they don't believe in religion at all. It's not only Muslims that are monitored. Even Christians and Jews here are watched. Before people start saying things like "But some Uyghurs actually live good lives and have opportunities in China though", which is true, but those Uyghur citizens either have assimilated into Chinese society or simply don't live in Xinjiang, where a lot of the Human Right Violation is taking place. It's the ones who are still living in that autonomous region that are still continuing to suffer at the hands of the CCP, as the regime continues to force assimilation onto the people.
