A Beautiful Summer WEDDING CELEBRATION in France - Journey to the Château, Ep. 119

In this week's Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart take on multiple roles in helping with a recent wedding celebration. Friends Tony and Jane ‪@notquiteachateaudiy‬ host a wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast (reception) at their home in France for their daughter Sherri and her bridegroom Paul. Patrick and Stuart also show a trip to a recent brocante where they found an item they had been missing for their front courtyard.
Join Patrick and Stuart on their journey to find a neglected, forgotten, or crumbling château or castle in France, and then continue to follow them as they work on its restoration, rénovation, decoration, and furnishing. Along the way, they will also create and share videos on their preparation for having gîtes for guests, and an event venue in their chateau (wedding, birthday, anniversary, organization or club meetings, retreats, etc.).

Well after seeing Jane's and Tony's video of the wedding rehearsal that was fun and very jovial, I did not expect to get so teary when Tony was walking Sherri down the aisle. It is of course too late to add my best wishes to this couple, but I appreciated this beautiful moment that you organized so well and permanently engraved. For this magnificent celebration, some honored the ceremony and the bride and groom by being of rare elegance. Something that is very much lost in our time and that we can only regret. What wonderful good news to give swallows the opportunity to come and nest under the beams of your outbuildings. This is a blessing for the swallows and for your enjoyment. I am in the countryside and unfortunately our modern houses are no longer welcoming for these poor birds. Also, I am so sad not to be able to have them nest in my home while their number is decreasing from year to year in my village.

An absolutely beautiful wedding so why am I an almost emotional wreck after viewing?😅 I’m such a sentimentalist unfortunately, that the tears started from the moment Sherri came down the steps and Tony greeted her so lovingly. I think I noticed Jane having a hard time holding back the tears as she watched her daughter coming down the aisle too? The whole thing was just beautiful from the bride and her attendants, to the reception decorations, to everyone attending as well. Patrick you looked so smart in your celebrant attire and Stuart, I really loved the jacket you wore and I bet you got some wonderful footage of Sherri and Paul’s special day. I have a feeling you would have had a hard time keeping your composure too Patrick, knowing how kind and thoughtful a person you are and being so close to the people involved. I guessed the ‘25’ cake may have been for Tony and Jane and wondered if the wedding was on the same day as their anniversary because my best friend’s daughter was married on her parent’s wedding anniversary. Oh - a last but not least, a mention of ‘the bell!’ It is a super idea and will fit in well with the look of the Chateau and also ring out when there’s a wedding at Chateau de Colombe?💐💖💐💖

What a wedding, everyone looked so happy, and Patrick you looked particularly dapper. What an extra special day for Tony and Jane too. When it was my silver, 25 year wedding anniversary, someone asked my husband if we were going to renew our vows. He replied, why, have they run out? I didn’t know they had a time limit. Anyway, I made them once and I have definitely not changed my mind, so no, I don’t think so. I’ve never been able to make up my mind if he was being very romantic or had his tongue in his cheek!
