I have never heard of it, but if I am in Italy or France I would spend my free moments looking at the beautiful museums and drinking red wine :) Thanks for visiting our channel!

@etresanchez Nowadays ppl call the instrument tuned like a renaissance lute, but with a long neck, an archlute; and the bass lute with a long neck a theorbo: historically the terms were often interchangeable. Of course Théorbe is very cool, as well.

I really appreciate the superb recordings that let me take full advantage of the talented musicians without being there in person. Thank you for the upload.

I especially like that he plays without the harsh sound of long nails on the right hand as is the case with many guitarists. His music is complete and utter food for the mind and soul. Thank you.

@Walvis2007 You are amazing. As a guitarist and a violinist, I am always in awe of musicians who can play renaissance and baroque instruments. Thank you for uploading this beautiful performance.

I first heard this Scottish tune from a recording by The Baltimore Consort and never forgot it. It was originally published as a broadsheet in the 18th century but "anon" composed the music for it. Wonderfully done here.

+Gus Winter Thanks, Gus--this tune is from a very early layer, the Skene manuscript from around 1615 and the Stirling ms from just a few years later.
