Take two satin scarves and tie them around your pillow to make a satin pillow case, this way you can change them often to keep your skin clear. 😉

Good thinking, @Jennifer Brown! Also a good way to test if it works before buying a pillowcase. I have noticed that the advice seems to alternate between using silk or satin. Does anybody know if it makes much difference (aside from cost)?

@@dogma3705 I don't think it makes a difference, I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that they are made out of different materials. Personally, I sleep on a silk pillowcase but I'm a really rough sleeper so it doesn't even work I wake up with no definition and rat tail hair 😩

Satin scrunchies are the best, I've only had them very few times before lol I might need to check out some beauty supply stores for some! Thanks for mentioning it. Going to get tiny claw clips (root clipping), a satin scarf, and possibly some satin scrunchies now, or black & brown swirlycurly hair ties.

Use swirly hair ties (look that up), they're the best for preventing dents in hair. :) Dollar stores have them, and are in black, brown, colorful shades, blonde etc.

This helped a lot. I used to have curly hair as kid, didn’t know how to take care of it because I was a kid. Had some head trauma which resulted in my hair chemicals changing or something and my hair went straight, like SUPER straight. 2 years ago my hair started showing signs of curls again. Still didn’t take care of it. i now have curls again like full on curls Thanks to a stylist/friend who gave me a perm. and I’m thrilled because I’ve missed having curls so much. but this time.I’m learning all I can to maintain my curls. 🥰 This video helped a lot thanks

Love this! I do have a satin pillowcase but my hair is so long that it doesn't work to keep the frizz away. My boyfriend also refuses to let me wear a bonet to bed lol, but the scarf is so cute! He'll definitely be ok with that (and if not too bad cause good hair is more important than fragile masculinity :P ) ETA: I wrote this comment two years ago and it’s still getting traction lol. Guys, I do what I want for my hair I was joking hes fine with whatever. I do use this scarf trick every night still with much success!

I’m such a crazy sleeper that satin pillow cases didn’t work I’d end up under them. So I bought satin sheets too and I still wear it in a pineapple. Think I’ll do a satin scarf too. Just in case.

I did this last night using the scarf method. I don't have a silk one but the one I used was soft and smooth. When I took my hair (it's longer than hers) out this morning my curls looked 95% the same as when I put it up. Just had to touch up a couple of spots. Thanks for sharing this.

Finally found someone with curls similar to mine!! I’ve been doing oil treatments to get back my curls to a healthy state and I got put on to the satin scarves. Couldn’t figure out how the hell to wrap my curls but thank you girl!! Now I got this! Lol

What I normally do, is use those face shield headband looking things, (had them before the pandemic lol) and put it around my neck, and then flip my hair over and pull the shield down. Then I use bobby pins to pin it into place so it won’t move around when I sleep. Just another little tip for if you don’t have a silk or satin scarf, I’m going to try it this way tonight because I want to see if silk will help with my split ends 😊

You tie the scarf the exact same way I do it. It took me so many tries to find that this is the best way to tie my hair up at night to protect the curls. I have really long hair and I tuck it into the flap, put a satin bonnet on top in case any curls escape AND sleep on a satin pillowcase. 🤣

I have 2b/2c curls, and I also have an issue with plucking my hairs while I’m falling asleep, so a friend of mine with type 3 curls recommended I try a bonnet or scarf while I sleep. We’ll see how it works. :P

My problem is my curls will straighten out a little when I wake up in a bonnet, then I end of wetting it again, but not as much in a Slap Cap, but I’ll try the pineapple one and see if that makes a difference in the morning. I don’t have a satin scarf, but I a satin bonnet.

This is my curl type but I have 0 curly products and we never have conditioner, so I’m often washing my hair with just water and my hair is more frizz than curl and I’m watching this video dreaming of how my hair will be once I’m able to provide the necessary aid for it 😂😭
