Agreed, for the same money, the Zoom B one four (either flavor) is SO MUCH MORE pedal. Sure, it lacks an XLR, but passive direct boxes are CHEAP. Practice tool? Yes. Backup live rig? Yes. Main live rig? I can see using the Zoom as the whole rig

Would you recommend more the zoom b14 over a medium pedalboard with cheap pedals like this joyo
@leesbassment639310 ай бұрын
@@hombretostadasenpolvo it depends on what you’re looking for. For me, yes. For you, hard to say
@wwatkins7 ай бұрын
The only reason I am thinking of building a board of cheap pedals, including a Joyo Uzi picked up over the weekend, is that 1) it's a bit of a hassle to toggle individual effects on the B1X Four with your feet and 2) the Zoom is limited to 5 effects. Some people on KZbin have wired in an external box of switches that solves problem 1, so that might be worth checking out.

My main pedalboard goes through the Sansamps V2, band is completely DI, but I want to have a backup to keep in the car when going to gigs in case something happens, which is doubtful since Sansamps are tanks, but I'd rather be prepared. Was debating grabbing this pedal at $89 or maybe just going with the cheaper Behringer for $40 and try to dial in the mids the best I can with just treble/bass controls. Either way, I'd probably get lazy and leave the backup on my practice amp so I don't have to go back and forth packing/unpacking my pedal board between band practices/gigs, so they'd get use throughout the week and I may even use the headphone jack on the Tidal Wave at times. I also have a Zoom B1XFour, would it just be fine as a backup going directly to a mixer over the 1/4" jack?

@ampthebassplayer Жыл бұрын
Build quality would be the big one. The Behringer unit is all plastic and I’ve heard stories of the footswitch being trash. This Joyo pedal is an all metal housing with a proper footswitch.
@orlandos3 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. Even though it is all plastic, I have to disagree with you on the poor quality part. I play twice a week for a church band and the BDI21 has performed and held up well for the 1 year I’ve been using it, coupled with a Zoom B1x four. I think since I already have the BDI21, I’m going to holdout until I can afford a SansAmp.

They are different circuit versions so they have different controls. Tidal Wave has a mid control and selectable frequencies for bass and mid. V1 clones like Behringers have neither.
@cheshirecatto Жыл бұрын
@@sparella Thanks for pointing that out. I'm wondering how this compares to the Caline Wine Cellar because I couldn't find any comparisons here on YT. I didn't realize the Caline was a V1 clone without the frequency switches. But based on the sounds I've heard from demo videos, I think I'm still leaning towards the Caline for now

Hi Amp, Last week at a gig my DG x Ultra failed. Just consider the fact that i usually am ampless on stage and use the X Ultra as my main preamp and distortion engine. As a metal bassist that was a big set back. Thankfully i had a Joyo double thruster onboard and used it for the distortion and with a bit of help from the sound guy was able to find a usable tone for the gig. However throughout the gig was a bit sceptical. Came home and de ided that i need a backup preamp so ordered this bad boy. Watched your video for nth time before deciding on this. The other option was a Joyo Dr.J Sparrow. This one arrived and OMG blew my mind. This has made its way as my main preamp because the clean tones sound so good. My X ultra serves as a distortion pedal with the double thruster as a backup. P.S. Joyo Dr.J sparrow is a clone of the Sansamp BDDI V1 so it can be a good video idea....plus that is also a great option under £40

Blend mixes between dry and wet, but the EQ does affect the dry.
@ditorresyt Жыл бұрын
@@sparella oh, great. if the EQ affects dry, then the manual is correct. The blend knob activates the cab sim. great feature for when you don't want to DI.
@sparella Жыл бұрын
@@ditorresyt Tech21 says the blend control mixes in the "SansAmp circuitry", but since Joyo can't use that trademark, they just wrote cab sim. The SA circuitry includes drive control, presence control, and the analog cab sim. But its equally accurate to call the cab sim a preamp voicing circuit, since it is the baked-in EQ curve that gives the design its signature scoop. I never had success using SABDDIv1 as a dirt box in front of an amp, and didnt plan on using the Tidal Wave in that way either.

I heard they are gooped like the Agro pedal is, so you might be waiting a long time unless you are willing to contribute one to the cause. A clone won't happen until someone degoops and traces the circuit: No one made klones until after the centaur was degooped and traced at fsb.
