The corners must always match on opposite sides because each pin can only affect the four nearest clocks, but in each configuration (up and down) the corner moves because you're literally moving the corner.
@yf-n77104 жыл бұрын
For me the hardest part was figuring out how the pins affected the dials. I imagine it makes more sense with a physical clock, I was using an online one. Once I got that, though, I went through pretty much the same process.
@gpmjohnbs9698 Жыл бұрын
For 5:42 this is the way it is. You always move the corner no matter what you do with the pins so the "brother" corners can't change direction. That would require for one of them to stop moving while the other is moving

This rubik's puzzle in particular is honestly one that most people overthink, when all you have to do is move and match the "cross" (matched clocks) with the unmatched clocks by doing some somewhat simple pin combos. And then you're essentially done, just make sure you turn the corresponding dial to the pin(s) that are open, as to not mess up the other side.

My father who lives in the UK, bought one of the first batch when the Rubik's Clock was first released in 1988 and flew the same day to Australia where I live to give it to me. The trip was planned anyway, but the release timing worked out perfectly. The end result was that I had one in Australia month's before it was released locally. I worked out the solution and documented it. I actually had a spot on TV showing that I could solve it. Interestingly, the first batch actually had a fault where one of the corner pieces pointed to 12 on one side and 11 on the other (or 1 on one side and 12 on the other). I had to get mine fixed, but you can see where the clock face as been painted over and a new face applied. My solution was very similar to what you did.
