Crazy extension of the 1-look concept: Jack Cai can do 3 blind with 15sec inspection, then ~10sec execution, he's been doing it in normal 3x3 events recently.

So happy you shared your love of 2x2. I'm a pretty average cuber (avg 30+ second solves for a 3x3), but I can solve 2x2 in under 10s so I can practice it at work without looking like I"m slacking off. Ortega has become a little boring, you've inspired me to look into the more advanced cases. Thanks again for all your vids.

It's funny when people hate on 2x2 for being "luck based". If you get lucky, so do your competitors lol. It's a game of who can do it better, just like any other event. I like the mental growth topics you discussed here, as I think they can help a cuber master other events further even if 2x2 isn't a passion and more just something they try for a bit. For example, mental clutter can be a massive issue in 3x3 as well when you need to plan 1-2 pairs with your cross to be world class these days.

The main reason i don't like 2x2 is because I'm not a fan of spamming TPS, I do know inspection is important (which I enjoy), but you need to have fast TPS to be good at 2x2. I've recently transitioned to Roux and I love the more controlled, efficient turn style. Same reason I'm enjoying OH because TPS isn't completely needed because you need efficiency.

What do you do to slow down a 2x2. I also have a valk 2 but it's fast. Also I'm still in the middle of learning CLL.

This video has inspired me to consider the "skill of 1-look". We should be able to define this in a way to guide people towards developing their "1-look". As an educator it seems to me that a "1-look" is an incredibly valuable teaching tool that can provide great guidance and value to ones life, inside and outside of mathematics(whatever that means to you).
