1 Thing to appreciate from the NEW fastest marathon runner from a front view
-
In a previous video, we looked at a front view of Eliud Kipchoge, where you can appreciate the natural, rhythmic side to side movement.
But how about when we look at Kelvin Kiptum who is now the current marathon world record holder?
You will see that there is ALSO rhymical side to side movement occurring.
He actually presents with MORE movement as well.
Now, I am not saying that you should run exactly like this.
The point of showing you this is that running efficiently is not about being stiff and rigid when you run.
These side to side and rotational movements are a natural part of running!

The other thing to consider is the butt kick that the faster runners do and when going fast to incorporate this into your running as you will find when doing this on fast runs like tempo or what have you, runners have a harder time running without the side to side movement. Just do what works naturally here on running. It is the stride length to the leg length so that you are not landing with the leg straight and heel first, that is a good way to get injured and possibly not able to ever run again, like a person I know who only landed and took off from the heel in an overstride because it hurt for her to run flat foot her whole leg hurt not just her because she was still overstriding for her body with more a jump then a push off just to land more flat foot. She did not get that in both variants she was overstriding for her leg length. Going under your Ideal stride is okay to a point, but only a point as then you limit the amount of movement you leg does and that is also bad.

Very well said. Momentum conservation and muscle elasticity are the terms that pop into my head.

Human body has two, not one leg down the centre, of course there’s gonna be side to side movement.

Running involves a counter twisting motion when you have longer strides because you're applying more torque. We're not robots with no flexibility. Our bodies are designed to adapt and that's why you see pro runners have some form of twist if you were to look from a birds eye perspective.

Every efficient movement in creation involves one-two, one-two including music, energy etc! This is why having no legs is a challenge for the serpent which is why he slithers side to side! The more in tune you are with your Designers structure the more efficient you move! These two embody that! - after all Africa is full of natural examples of animals doing same everyday! That’s the secret to all Life! He created it that way! Shalom🙏🔥🙌🏾
