You know what I like the most about you Joel? Unlike many reaction channels on here, as soon as you could you got out there and created content. Rather than sit in the USA pretending to understand they know what's going on. For the last 3 summers you've lived it and that's a massive difference.

Scarborough, is what the song 'Scarborough Fair' was written about. This was a huge trading fair that was held for over 500 years and attracted people from all over Europe. The song was made world famous by the American duo Simon and Garfunkle in the 1960s after they made a recording of it.

The seaside is very much a part of the British Culture and for many people who go on a day out to the seaside it will bring back happy childhood memories, especially building sand castles on the beach with a bucket and spade. Scarborough is good 👍
@MisterHampshire3 ай бұрын
For a moment I was horrified that, at Scarborough, you weren't going to take your shoes and socks off and go for a 'paddle' and get some sand between your toes, but oh my, thankfully, thankfully in the end you did *smiles* Honestly on a good summer's day the UK has so much to offer. I hope you realised too that the lettering in seaside rock goes all the way through - at no matter what point you break it, the lettering will read exactly the same.

Great to see you back in Yorkshire, Joel: you are an honorary Yorkshireman because you understand us! My mum’s father was from Scarborough and always reminded us that it was the first English seaside resort, created in the 18th Century as a Spa. Also, that the first German shells to land on English soil in 1914 hit Scarborough and other North Eastern ports before anyone realised what was happening; the German cruisers hit the Grand Hotel, the Castle and other landmarks. It caused such anger among the British people that the government produced thousands of recruitment posters to encourage men to join the army and ‘Avenge Scarborough!’ It looks like your day was calmer!😅

The beach and waters weren't clean then, a sewer pipe ran into it, and you would end up swimming with all sorts! The Sea Life centre used to have a giant, ugly fish in the corner of the room, and we would visit him every time. The small gauge railway and the shop at the station. The vincular railway down to the shore. All you needed to do was fall in Scarborough Mere, like I did. From Yorkshire

It’s good to see you back in the U.K. Joel but it’s not unusual to get 5 hot days in a row in spring and summer and hot weather in September and even in October. Whereas November can be very cold and on occasions widespread snow fall like 2010. Winter, between December and February can be very cold with lots of heavy rain at times and dry weather and on occasions snow which varies every year but it has to be said our winters are getting warmer, milder but more wetter. Overall the U.K. weather is changeable and we do see a lot of hot weather that can last for a long time, or it can be intermittent, changing between hotter and colder weather or we can see times during spring and summer where we have a lot of rain that seems to drag on for a long time and can be depressing. As a rule of thumb be prepared and bring appropriate clothing for warmer and colder/wet weather. Nice video Joel!
