Saving Dee's Honey Bees
Ms.Dee called me out to remove & relocate a honey bee colony that was living in her carport storage room wall.
Everything went quite well with the removal. The bees were very gentle & made enough honey for Dee to sample.
I believe Ms. Dee was pretty happy the colony was removed & enjoyed the experience as did I.
JP the bee man resides in southeast, Louisiana very near New Orleans & fools with honey bees in some capacity roughly 10 months of the year or so depending on the severity or lack of winter in these parts.
Honey bee populations are strong in Louisiana with long seasons beginning late February/early March.
JP will go just about anywhere for honey bee work but also removes bumble bees alive as well.

I love that you get people so close to these exposed hives and can show hundreds of thousands of people online that bees are mostly gentle insects that aren't out to get them. We're in a bad time for bees right now, especially with the rise of genetically modified agriculture which is killing entire colonies left and right because the greedy bastards at Monsanto and other big agriculture companies are using wanton and dangerous pesticides that kills insects indiscriminately. The fact that you *remove* the bees rather than terminate the colonies is great, and I'm glad there are people out there that can both serve the public like this as well as do their part to respect and preserve nature in the process.

@@JPthebeeman i hope things turned out well for her, ive encountered many subterranean termites but where im at formosan are pretty rare, ive only heard of a hand full of cases where im at here in texas. im actuall ywanting to see some in person, that and drywood termites! ive seen plenty of other things, mostly carpenter ants though

Kota Fox Drywood termites are an interesting species, can exist in very small colonies, do less damage than other termites but control is usually achieved only by fumigation of the entire structure.

I would just like to say that, aside from your obvious skill with bees, the thing I think you do the best is educate. I see it consistently and it is always very friendly and kind.
