Everyday M.M.A. That is why I say “the most anticipated unanticipated podcast of all time....” because 5 years ago joe did one with Eddie and Jean that to me felt in some way half full and half empty at the same time. But it held no space in my mind of “needing” another podcast with Machado until I saw that there was another sit down between just them after joe has continuously talked so often and highly of his teacher. Sorry if I crashed your “lol” moment at my comment but to me and I feel a large amount of others, this podcast means a lot.....

Listening to this only reinforces my unconditional love for BJJ. Just keep showing up, even when you don’t feel like it, and you will reach levels of skill that you’d never think you were ever capable of. Not only on the mat, but in every day life, you will be able to conquer situations that may seem impossible to most people. Beginning my training has changed my life in the best ways and I will be forever grateful for my Professor Will Couchon of Couchon BJJ Academy. And Thank you Joe Hogan 😉and Jean Jacques Machado for this insightful and inspirational conversation. OSS!!! 🙏🏼🤙🏼🦂

Jean Jacques is a beautiful human. I remember helping him move mats for a tournament at the LA Police Academy in 1996. I was a 2 stripe blue belt and he was so accommodating and patient with my questions while we were carrying mats from his school. I've always been a fan of him since my first encounter with him. Side note: We were carrying Swain 1x2 meter mats. If you've ever carried those or Zebra mats, you know they can get heavy. I was using two hands and then eventually partnered up with someone else. He was carrying them with one hand... his left. His thumb was stronger than both of my arms.

Imagine his grip around your lapel with his right hand LOL
@sendergreen5 жыл бұрын
@@BurgurBun I saw his grip on Fabio Santos' neck at that same tournament. It was the super fight and it was a cross sweep straight to a cross choke. That thumb entered Fabio's lapel so quickly and the choke was set. It was a very fast match.

With all respect to Professor Machado, we do not pronounce Rio as Americans do, it is Hio. What happens is that we got so used to the Americanized way of calling Rio that we took it in, but never to a persons name!
@CosmicPenguin015 жыл бұрын
JeepTrip I’m sure he knows but didn’t want to just openly roast Americans on the podcast so he played it off 😂
@marcelobarros57295 жыл бұрын
@@CosmicPenguin01 It's not roasting off. Different languages pronounce foreign words in their own way. And it's just fine. I really don't get it.

Now I understand what he meant. Machado thought Rogan was talking about how he pronounces people's names or cities in English ... not Portuguese. So he will say Rio the english way but he will say Rickson the Brazilian way when speaking english.
