This guy is beyond full of shit. Kidnapped for 2 years? I’m sure that a bunch of broke ass fishermen took it upon themselves to add this guy to their already starving family. Then they kicked him down some of their drugs? I think I watch this guy’s kidnapping on a movie.

Joe says some funny stuff, but noticing that his guest gets his back up while talking about some heavy stuff is great. He might ask simple questions that seem irrelevant to a lot of people, but it’s the seemingly irrelevant stuff that fills in the gaps of all the inane questions I have. I like that Joe asks questions a 10 year old would ask... it makes me understand better

I grew up near the village where the Somali pirates started. My people didn’t decide to become pirates for the fun of it. They’re fisherman who became pirates because they grew sick of westerns, Arabs, and Asians stealing fish and dumping toxic waste In the ocean which would kill off whatever fish they left behind. You have to understand during this time people were fishing to live another day. At first they would chase the ships until they left our shores but eventually warlord took things to another level.
