@Joker Tube Depends what you mean by processed food too, because everything in a grocery shop is processed food to some degree. You will really notice if you go fishing for food, which taste so much different than any fish you buy in a grocery shop, unless you buy fresh caught fish (lets be honest only older generation ate that stuff). Although its better alternative if you can make everything from its basic ingredients as its less artifical.

whos we? Most of the fat people in USA come from countries with fatty foods. Being a first gen Hispanic here. Dominican food is mad fatty, makes you obese and many Hispanic kids, black kids, etc just dont know how to cook healthy food. They like their cultural food or fast food. White fat people try to connect to their "ItAlIaN" roots. and just eat pasta and meatballs all day. I've yet to see this hamburger, pizza hotdog as the standard American diet EXCEPT for inner city people who barely make enough money and just settle for the bodega canned foods and chop cheese sandwhiches

I remember a while back I went to visit my grandmother at her village in Serbia. She had her own farm with pigs, sheep, and chicken. As well as the usual vegetables. This woman was 83 years old. Every morning to start her day she would eat a slab of smoked bacon which had nothing but fat on it. She would eat it with garlic and a tomato with her homemade goat cheese. After that she would go herd her sheep and tend to her animals, mind you this woman was 83 years old. I was there for a month and ate whatever she ate. She would cook all of her meats and eggs in pig grease and would never overeat. For the month that I was there, I never felt more clean and pure with my body.

I’m from Asia and have been living in the US for a while now. I went on vacation in Europe and I realized how processed and unnatural and artificial and chemical the food in US was. Both back home and in Europe I had food with fresh products not much additives. But first few years in the US I literally started eating trashy and it kept going and I gained 20 kilos instantly. I realized how bad many food in the US was for my body. Being “healthy” isn’t really on mind right now but I’m focusing on how to be as natural and normal as possible and it’s been great. I lost the weight that I gained and I feel much better physically and I don’t crave any fast food chains or snacks (like manufactured ones) even if I see them.

yes, i'm confused of why people in the US are making healthy food a big deal, but then i realized, all other countries was eating healthy food everyday, it was the norm. same like gym, i'm confused why everyone in the US wear "i go to gym" badge, and pride on it as if it was a big deal. then i realized everyone in all other countries do Sports as a hobby, they're constantly train their body. they got the skills , and they're fit. they're not just lifting weight with no purpose because you had to get rid of the excess burger from yesterday like how american did when i heard that you've to go to the gym, or else you won't get the energy, or can't be productive, i couldn't relate with that. but now i realize, people in the US eats too excessively to the point that they hit the Post-lunch slump, which force all of their body to shutdown because their body got blocked by a big chunk of food. no wonder you're having no energy, can't move, not productive, and sleepy all the time. people on the other world just didn't eat excessively until they hit the Post-lunch slump.

Really makes me appreciate my parents cooking 95% of our meals with actual food...meats, poultry, vegetables, potatoes, rice, etc. And now I do the same thing and have swayed my wife into being about cooking. Obviously healthier and obviously cheaper. A lot of people literally will “cook” a meal maybe once a month, and I just don’t understand how your body can feel even half good like that.

European here, during highschool I was at my heaviest 120-125kg, even if I’m tall and and young, knees started to tell me first that I was in a bad situation. And honestly, as Europe (and france in my case) has better regulation on processing foods, and on quantities, usually you’ll find that processed foods are “kind” of healthier than in the US, but, I still was eating a lot food, just a lot, maybe not eating pizza and burgers evry day, but I would eat like 2/3 servings per meal, which is mad, but mom was italian so, it was a treat each time. But I went like this till college. There pasta, grinded meat, and other cheap things where my go to, and I din’t pay attention to how much some items where processed, BUT, I was walking way more often due to living in a city and not in small towns, and I usually skipped lunch as there was nothing in campus that suited my hungry stomach. Well I lost 20kg in about a year. And doing well to this day. So the morale of this story is, study kids, and go to college, you’ll get in shape Edit: the conclusion is a joke of course, but at the end of the day, changing lifestyle to a more active, and or healthier, will usually results in an adaptation in your body, like loosing weight by eating less and moving more. I just know that in the USA, the situation is different, as some staples of a good diet such as drinks (water would be the usual drink that people should have, that’s just a guess), bread (which, is a focking joke there, like we need bread with carbs from cereals, not some brick of sugar and butter between a crust), and vegetables, which comes in plastic sealed packages (what? Why? This is weird to me) and proteins (even your eggs are SOO much more processed than here, even if there are reasons, idk how did you get to that point), all these basics things go trough more transformations than anywhere else in the ENTIRE WORLD. Like eating in the US is so much more "industrial" so to speak. There’s a lot of fixing to do there. Buuut I do be curious about some of the shit that’s made in the US. It looks good most of the time

you can eat anything and will lose weight as long as you are in a caloric deficit.

you just decreased your calorie intake thats why you lost weight, not because you cut out dairy fark me get up to date with the evidence.

Then there’s me that is underweight but is also trying to gain but without eating unhealthy foods. Which is pretty hard because it’s the pandemic and the only things my parents do are 1. Barely buy healthy foods at the grocery store in the first place because the junk are “cheap” 2. Cook the smallest meals ever 3. Buy fast food for convenience

I eat in good amounts eggs, rice, meat, etc. But as another comment here says, when I'm at the US I struggle so much to end my whole dish. So much that I find myself eating only from the appetizers section

I think sugar was not so common before and it was used as medicine. It works to prevent infections in wounds (topically)

I tried the carnivore diet. I had to quit after a month because I was hungry all the time. Eating meat, eggs and cheese left me hungry no matter how much I ate.

More high quality protein and fibre to feel full during the day. Chicken, fish, spinach, eggs and wholemeal bread are my go to. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables including legumes for a healthy, diverse gut microbiome. Lots of polyphenols. Cabbage, avocados, fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi and berries. Ginger, turmeric and fresh tomatoes. I haven't had proper heartburn in months and am finally gaining weight after some serious health issues. Also the magic bullet? Proper Manuka honey. Don't wait, go buy some. It will be expensive but worth it. The real stuff though not the fake stuff. Ginger and turmeric tea with Manuka honey is like magic for reducing inflammation. Hope that helps someone.

@@BornGam3r Are you saying olive oil is bad for you? Did I say just because its old it's good? Joe said it's only very recently that people squeezed oil from plants. That is my reply.

Sure, as long as don't buy cheap olive oil full of other crap.
