I didn't know white interior was a free option but I've seen way too many posts about people who regret buying white seats in their Tesla due to spills or dye transfer from clothing that they cannot clean off so I chose black interior. You paid $500 less on the MSRP but I was able to take advantage of the 1.99% promotional finance rate. I think we both did very well given how nice the car is. I plan on keeping my car for at least 10 years so the annualized cost is pretty darn good, or I actually think it's a relative bargain considering the performance you get for the money. Thank you for disclosing all the details of your purchase, I think that's very helpful for those about to make the same purchase themselves.

I don’t know who’s complaining about 20% as of right now until I can start an online business I only make around 30,000 a year with a 9-5 so definitely not enough for a Tesla unless I was living somewhere rent free and even then it would still be too expensive. I’ll break down my cost. 2024 Model Y Performance. Cost was 58k including taxes etc. Got the $7500 tax credit. Traded in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 70k miles to Carmax for 15k (Tesla only offered 11k). Put 5k cash down (20k total) so financed about 30-31k…got the 1.9 percent apr promotion so my payment is $451 per month. It cost me about $375 to install the charger in my home (house built in 2019). Car insurance is the big one. I’m with progressive. I don’t have the exact number but…i pay $250 per month for the Tesla and a Hyundai sonata. 6 month premium $1500…the premium was $900 before with the same sonata and the Jeep…so a significant jump there. Supercharging costs me about $12-$17 depending on how low I drive the car down to. Charging at home is about $4-$6 each time. I charge probably 3x a week give or take. Electric bill has gone up about $30-$50 give or take. I’ve driven a lot though! I have about 3200 miles and it’s been slightly over 2 months. (I don’t even have a commute since I work from home lol). Oh and I pay the $99 per month for fsd. Paid the $99 one time for premium connectivity for the year.

@@bahutoopa1190 yeah I paid about 41cent per Kilowatt today I believe. If I was just on superchargers alone, it depends on what car you’re coming from as far as savings. KUB in Knoxville just south of you. The off peak rate really isn’t worth it here. The regular metered rate is about 10.5¢/kW. The off-peak is 9¢/kW and on peak is like 21¢ or 22¢/kW. Just that huge spike for on peak, my 3 story 5BR/3.5BA house would eat up the tiny savings I would get from charging off peak. All of KUB power comes from the TVA, so our power is cheap here too; mostly hydroelectric, nuclear, and a few coal plants left that they’re working on closing down over the next few years and converting to nuclear. Edit: the house would eat up the difference because of the AC, or just running always on appliances like refrigerators, chargers, etc.. One slip up and running the dishwasher or dryer on peak would devour that 1.5¢ savings lol. Also, TN added a $200 EV tag fee that is scheduled to increase to like $275 in 2027 and then go up every year with inflation.

Wow, financing $40,000 for six years is just insane. You are going to pay nearly $8000.00 interest to finance $40,000. That's just burning money. That's approximately a 15% increase in the car price. That's a lot of money to invest in a car. You were smart to pay off your loan. I just drove to CA for a funeral. I drove approximately 900 miles and it cost around $100.00. So, it was a lot cheaper than driving a standard ICE car. However, if you compare it to a Toyota Camry hybrid, which gets 51 mpg, it works out to about the same cost.

@@beansRuns A 1.99% rate is much more reasonable. If you charge at home, you will probably save a significant amount of money on gas alone. So, 1.99% makes more financial sense. I own a 2022 Model 3, and it costs me $7.75 to charge it from 0 -100%. I also own a Toyota Tacoma and it costs me around $70.00 to fill up its 22 gallon gas tank. I can go about 250 miles on that 22 gallon tank, which is about the same range I get on with my Model 3 for one charge in city driving. @@franklong6269Your Tacoma gets 12 mpg? Do you only do city driving? I know it's a truck but damn, not even 18 mpg combined?
@franklong62692 ай бұрын
@@Lawlsforlawls My Tacoma is a 2009 4-wheel drive double-cab. It gets about 250 - 270 miles on a tank of gas in the city. I am not sure what it gets on the highway now, but it wouldn't be over 17 mpg for sure. Probably closer to 15 mpg on the highway. It has 234,000 miles on it and I just replaced the suspension. However, I think that the truck just was not as efficient as when it was new. But even when it was new, I would only get around 20 mpg on the highway. As the truck has aged, its gas mileage in the city has plummeted. I have upgraded the plugs and checked its specs and it is running correctly. I think that some of the sensors have aged and it is burning more gas because of that. However, when I took it for the emissions test, it ran very clean. So it runs good but I have lost about 3 mpg in gas efficiency.

We just placed an order yesterday for a M3LR. Our monthly, estimated, is like $1005 lol. We did the 0% APR and only way to get that is to do the 36 month financing option, $7500 tax credit, used a referral code which got us $500 off, we also got the Ultra Red + White interior which cost us extra ($2000 for the ultra red, $1000 for the white interior) - The monthly is A LOT, but we're paying $0 for interest. I kept urging my husband to just pay the car off so that we don't have to pay for full coverage (which for us is about 170 a month), but I think we're just going to put more towards the payment to get it paid off faster.. so we don't have to pay so much for full coverage. But that's our experience! We're likely going to get the 2025 year since I know they're already giving vins for that year (although there's no difference between 2024 and 2025, just the number)

@@Joey_DiGs Muslims are not permitted to pay interest. I took a course at university. They wait for 0% interest or roll the interest into the car loan and get zero interest. I leased a model 3 last year. I paid $1,200 down and I pay 330 a month (12k for 3 years) the reason the down payment was so low is because NJ doesn’t charge sales tax on EVs and they give 4k towards EVs so all in all I got an amazing deal.

you are right about insurance. I’m an agent. I always recommend you have high deductibles. Insurance companies know how to rig the system to win. The less you pay them the better off you are. But also recommend high liability limits. People like to sue each other and that protects you.

Damn, I had no clue model 3s were so expensive. Although it is brand new and the Y Performance I bought was a 2023 with 17,000 miles on it so decidedly not brand new but it cost less than the 3 which is shocking to me. I thought the model 3 was supposed to be the "budget friendly" tesla, I had no clue they were that pricey. That wasn't a dig btw, I'm genuinely surprised. I didn't finance it though, but I do exclusively use supercharging which is about $35 give or take which because I live in California is DEFINITELY cheaper than gas. My 01 civic with it's tiny little 13 gallon tank costs nearly $60 to fill. Edit: I will never get rid of that civic, she has been with me thru thick & thin but damnit if California doesn't rip you off at the pump.

Went the cheapest RWD model as a lease and got QS free plus white seats by switching to a inventory model. It costs a few hundred a month more than I was paying for a paid for car with 200k miles that was about to die... BTW if you don't factor in gas savings the full cost is about 6% income.

Beautiful Interstate vehicle, safe and very quiet. Insurance is $89 a month. Gas is around $120 a month for 1,000 miles average. Sooo, a total of $200 a month driving 1,000 a month with 480 mile range. Zero depreciation. Tax $80 a year. I looked into buying a Model 3. The payment was $478, not counting much more expensive tax, and insurance. Electricity would be about $35 with my routes. So, after careful consideration it does not appear EV is a good option.

I did the math on my car. Bought new in 2004 for 15k. 20 years later with hair under 300k, I'm still driving it. Cost me 45k so far for twenty years with price of car. Gas obviously is the majority of that, around 26k but probably less as gas was cheaper in 04 so that's based on 2.99 average a gallon. Maintenance is rolled in there as well. Not bad. Cost me next to nothing really to run. Buy one car and make it last.

6 cents per Kwh...well, that is the dream cost if you can get it...But here in Socal, it's just a pipe dream...with average electricity (off peak hours - whether SDGE or SCE) ranging between .25 to .35 cents. Still no complaints, way cheaper than gas even though gas prices are below $4 dollars due to current lower crude prices. Another cost you have to take into consideration is ev resale value...as most know that ev's have steep depreciation (first 3 years) compared to Toyota/Honda ICE vehicles.

For the home charging costs, your kwh rate should really be your total bill divided by how many kwh you used that month. I could be wrong but I'm guessing those 6 cents don't include all the other fees in an electricity bill. My KwH rate is like 9 cents but after adding all the fees the real rate is more like 15 cents. Still, super cheap to charge (around $60/month for $,1,200-500 miles driven) but worth noting.
