@LoganX00Ай бұрын
THIS! I wish I could give you a hundred up-votes. FSD just doesn't seem to be capable of thinking ahead, it works very much like early Chat-GPT models where it only thinks about how to execute the current action or complete the current sentence, not "how can I prepare for the next action". We have a lot of two lane lefts in my city and the car basically never uses the right lane so I generally have to take over every single time or else face the car doing something idiotic\dangerous.

@kungfoochicken08Ай бұрын
@ Yeah, the speed issue is a bit tricky to navigate because the norm fluctuates so much. There’s a road by my house that’s 35mph, but you’ll create a backup if you drive less than 47-50mph. There’s another street that’s 25mph, but I’ve gotten a ticket for doing 7mph over on it. I’m glad it FSD goes a little slow because you can correct it with hitting the gas every few miles. If it went too fast, you’d risk a ticket and you’d have to disengage to slow when you wanted to correct it.
@dsaboАй бұрын
IMO FSD should *never* go below the speed limit if road/weather conditions don't require it. The current version before this release seems to persistently drive 5-10mph below the speed limit almost no matter what, even in hurry mode. And I live in Atlanta where going 10-15mph *over* is the norm and any less is in many cases dangerous because you're disrupting traffic flow. It needs fixed badly. Autopilot is currently smarter than FSD about speed. Hopefully v13 makes this better

@incognitotorpedo42Ай бұрын
Nice. I like that it drives at a normal clip, i.e. a bit over the speed limit when safe. The thing that still drives me crazy is that it stops at a stop sign, then it sits there way too long for no reason whatsoever. The system's reaction time must be a hell of a lot faster than a human. It should stop, calculate for a couple milliseconds, then go.
@j2racingАй бұрын
Is it physically capable of that? Sure... however it's likely designed for the lowest common denominator. I'd hate to get a ticket by a cop who thinks the Tesla didn't come to a complete stop, because it was too quick to be perceptible. I'd rather the car stop, pause for a moment, then continue. I live in a country where FSD is not yet possible (RHD) however the police here are very quick to ticket you if you don't perceptibly come to a complete and total stop at a stop sign.
@kungfoochicken08Ай бұрын
@@j2racing It likely needs adjusted. Tesla got in trouble because FSD used to do a "rolling stop" at stop signs. Its technically illegal, but a lot of drivers in the US do them. If everything is clear, then there's no reason to come to a complete stop, so a lot of drivers don't. They probably forced the car to stop at stop signs for a fixed period to compensate for this.

Thanks for sharing. It seems promising, but I’m curious to know if v13 can perform better in specific situations below. 1. When I used Hurry mode (v12 2024.33.5 with HW4), it didn’t slow down when passing a speed camera. For example, 25 MPH zone with 35+ will definitely get the ticket. 2. It struggles to determine if a right turn in a red light is prohibited or not. Sometimes it makes the right turn in the prohibited area, and sometimes it doesn’t turn when the road allows the right turn in red. 3. In instances where a vehicle requires a lane change within a short distance at a highway interchange with the heavy traffic, it frequently encounters difficulties in executing this maneuver successfully.
