@crystalp72422 жыл бұрын
@@Asukenick I could only find credits for two of the singing voices, but they were both part of another boy band active at the time, Natural. Like N Sync, Natural was basically under the thumb of Lou Pearlman, but had two major differences: Natural was presented as a band who played their own instruments rather than as a pure vocal group like N Sync was, and Natural pretty much only had popularity in Germany (which is where N Sync had gone a few years earlier to build their skills and a fanbase before returning to the U.S. and launching their career there). So, not technically N Sync, but they had enough connections in both sound and management that they were N Sync-adjacent.

The music video played forwards goes "Yvan eht nioj, yvan eht nioj, yvan eht nioj, eht nioj!" Which is "Join the ... join the navy, join the navy, join the navy!" forwards. I was 11 when this came out and I made nothing of it. My schoolyard friend told me this was his first Simpson's episode and it creeped him the hell out. I couldn't get why. Watching it back now it still doesn't seem so weird to me, but by reading the comments apparently my friend wasn't the only one lol

Why does this song sound like it's about an extreme way of ending a toxic relationship, in addition to being a subliminal message to get people to join the Navy? 🤣

I hear this for the first time in native language, because I used to watch The Simpsons in italian version back in the 00's.

Really ? Is the song translated ? Because in the French version the song isn’t translated
@mesafilmsproductions4454 жыл бұрын
@@loanlucasmaylielissandro No, I was referring to english (american) slang used in original dialogues, italians have translated this changing a lot of words because it wouldn't make any sense to translate the dialogues literally. However the song is still in english and only subtitles in italian are added in.

@@mesafilmsproductions445 oh okay nevermind haha ;) but I don’t know if this is the case for the Italian version, but i just remember that in my case the French episode got two different versions; one with the songs which aren’t translated and the other one where the songs are translated in French ( this one is more scary than the original song, tbh I used to be like 6 when I firstly saw this episode back in 2008 even if this episode is from the early 00s, and I used to be really scared of the ladies singing backwards lol )

@@loanlucasmaylielissandro Basically for this specific song we don't have. Usually for american cartoons (not only The Simpsons but also Family Guy, South Park, The Fairy Godparents, etc.), in italian version only a few songs are translated, I guess the most laughable ones. But most of the songs (like Yvan eht Nioj) aren't. Anyway, now I'm curious about the french translation for Yvan eht Nioj, want to check for it! Ahahah.. :D
