@@MrAskmannen That's not quite true the way you put it. If you meant that out of two encounters, the chance that both are a Pikachu is 0.25%, then you are absolutely correct. But the probability to encounter two Pikachus in a row out of more than two encounters (how many you may have in Viridian Forest) is greater than 0.25%.

To be honest, I would prefer if it were a combination of both this style and the abstract style. But that would mean a lot more editing. I like them both and think they would work best together. But I like the frequent releases you've been doing with your videos even more. In the end, I think you know best which format works for you. And they all work for me.

I always found it highly ironic how hard it is to catch Tauros. Given there was an entire episode about Ash just catching them all the time on a whim and multiple call back jokes about him just having a herd of them living with Professor Oak. If I remember correctly it's confirmed he has 30. Assuming he was following the same rules as us, that means that every pokeball he throws, he happens to catch a Tauros

I have no idea if anyone has said this, but in case you ever do another catch em all type video or some kind of challenge video that requires a lot of catching, I learned recently that in gen 1, you are actually MORE likely to catch legendaries by putting them to sleep and NOT damaging them at all. Just keep them at full health and chuck a few ultra balls at em. It works very consistently for me. I don’t think it applies to other pokemon, but I could be wrong.

Not MORE likely. The math is very weird and at some health values it's higher chance, some it's lower. Overall the chance is basically the same anyways, full health is 20%-ish, half is 20%-ish, 1hp is 20%-ish.

There's actually a trick for catching Pokemon in the Safari zone without spending a lot of money. If you remain stationary on the grass, and just change your character's orientation by lightly tapping the control pad, the PC will change the direction he's facing, and that counts as movement able to trigger random encounters! That allows you to essentially catch every Pokemon on the Safari Zone in one go if you have the patience.

Do Gold Silver and/or Crystal let you get any farther in the Gen 1 pokedex? You can obviously fill in Gyarados using the Lake of Rage Gyarados, but I think Rapidash and tentacruel can be caught wild in those games as well.

@@yourdad6236 I'm not sure what part of Canada Jrose lives in, but it was uploaded pretty early in all of the timezones. If he lives in Newfoundland or Nova Scotia, it was a somewhat normal time (around the 7am range), but his accent suggests to me that he doesn't live in either or those places. I could be wrong about that though, as some people try to underplay their natural accent.

You can catch Mewtwo with a PokeBall on turn one if you give it about 500 tries. Save, throw, load, repeat. Works eventually.

Funny enough, now that the final DLC for Sword and Shield are out, which has wild Omastar and Kabutops, as well as the second DLC having wild Blastoise and Venusaur in max raids, you can now, as of 2020, catch every pokemon in gen 1 without evolving.

This is pretty random but on Japanese Blue you can get a couple more. There are in game trades available to get Gengar and Golem. You can also trade for Tauros and Kangaskhan to avoid dealing with the Safari zone

I basically did this when Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow came to the 3DS in their emulator. Was a lot of fun but I think I ended up only catching about 132 or something like that (evolutions included) which is pretty sad. I never went to try and catch every single one as a child because I was incredibly mad at the trading bs as pokemon back then wasn't too well known in Germany and I maybe knew 2 people who had Game Boys and a pokemon game.

For the legendaries you actually should be using ultraballs and not great balls. If you put a Pokémon to sleep it has a 17.5% catch rate with an Ultra Ball opposed time 13.5% for Great ball (both at full health). Hurting the legendaries doesn’t really help much, but sleep (and freeze) definitely does.
