Yo what's up everybody! As I am new to Persona I didn't realise there were 2 new openings for Phantom X and Episode Aigis. I searched a compilation video and watched that because with my knowledge of the franchise (which is zero lol) It was the safest bet. Apologies for that. That said - I will be reacting to both openings and posting them in a separate video! I hope y'all understand 🙏🏻😄 ALSO I want to play the persona games, starting with 3 Reload and going to 4 and 5 too. Let me know how many of you would be interested in seeing that by either liking or replying to this comment. Should I stream or simply upload. Gameplay wise i think P5R is still better than P3R but story in P3R i belive is superior both are great games but persona 3 dungeon crawling aspect could get repetitive

Persona 3 is the single most important game of my life. It's the game that stopped me from killing myself in high-school in 2006, and taught me hard lessons about what it means to be alive. Persona 5 Royal may be a more acceptable entry point in many ways, but Persona 3 is certainly more *important*.

Your pronounciation of the names of the 3(Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Augis) and 4(Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Naoto, Rise and Kuma) characters is pretty spot on, aside from "Aegis" who is spelled differently in 4 ultimax for some reason. People usually say all of them wrong.

Persona Q is a spin off series about the cast of P3, P4, and P5 meeting each other after being trapped in a specific area. I really love them, mainly because Q1 is my introduction to the franchise. Q2 also was the first time in years that they brought back the female protagonist thats exclusive to Persona 3 Portable on PSP

As for P6, we surely have an announcement coming soon, I believe it will arrive. It has been 8 years, there's no way they haven't done anything. And I also hope we get a female MC, or as some previous leaks said, a pair of siblings as MCs (male and female).

The Persona series was originally a spin off of the Shin Megami Tensei series. The game is about high school students who have a special power called personas and must use that power to save the world. but Persona 3 took the series in a new direction by making the game into two parts, a life simulator and a dungeon crawler, everything you do in normal life makes you stronger in the dungeon part of the game. Thanks to that new gameplay formula, Persona became much more popular than Shin megami tensei, making Persona Atlus's new mascot franchise and after that it got a lot of spin-offs of its own. The games often get improved re-released versions with new content and story content, for example Persona 4 golden and 5 royal are improved versions of 4 and 5, and 3 Reload is a full on remake of 3 Persona 3 4 and 5 are not connected, they are in the same universe but you can play those 3 games story in any order you want. but I would first play 5 royal because of the Handcrafted Dungeons, then 3 reload because it has many of the improvements from 5 and then 4 golden because it's a bit Rough Around the Edges but still great

Definetly agree with everything said here, I think there are a few crossover characters between 3 4 and 5 mainly just brief cameos like when you go to Gekkoukan in 4 and when Chie is referenced on the TV Starting with persona 5 is going to give you the best expereince overall but it might ruin 3 and 4's social links for you when you realize that (even in the more recent reload) that social links don't give the gamechanging perks that you get from 5's social links.

Also, cool thing about Persona 3 Portable’s opening. Since it was originally released on the rather small PSP, the intro is able to be viewed right side up and upside down (at least on original hardware or the Vita) and you can catch extra details that way. One side for the male protagonist and one for the female.

Basically the main concensus for Persona fans (only talking 3, 4 and 5 since most Persona fans have only played those three but 1 and 2 are also good this is also how people say it) Persona 3 has the best story, Persona 4 has the best characters and Persona 5 has the best gameplay my favorite is Persona 4 Golden because I'm a sucker for a great cast of characters and Persona 4 has the best all around.

Atlus' music in general is fire. Shoji Meguro did the music for Persona 3-5, some for the remakes of 1-2, and for Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, half the soundtrack for Strange Journey, and the new game "Metaphor" that they just released, and he doesn't miss. But even other games Atlus releases still have fire soundtracks from people like Ryota Kozuka. Their music always stands out. Also, appropriate Mitsuru reaction. My Empress.

I absolutely love all these openings, they're so amazing You also said you don't see a lot of Persona 1 and 2 in these, and yeah, it's probably because they're very different from the others and I believe are written by entirely different people too, if I'm not mistaken. Outside of DLC content, the latest reference to the OG Persona trilogy (P1, P2IS and P2EP) is actually in Persona Q2, right at the end of the opening when Joker throws his mask down and it turns into butterflies as the background turns purple, and the ending of the game, which shows a character from P1 and P2

Loved the reactions! If you do stream, hopefully I can catch you playing. Honestly usually the best one to start with is whichever game catches your attention the most! (between Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal). An argument can be made for starting with any of them, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but I love this franchise! I even bought a Ps Vita so I could buy Persona 1 and 2 to play those on the Vita, that's how obsessed I am lol

Context for certain songs. Also ignore the last 2 paragraphs if you don't want spoilers please. PERSONA 3 Songs: The gun is a thing called an Evoker its a item for Person 3 persona users to summon there personas via remembering death by having the balls to shot themselves. Even tho there is nothing actually shot out of the evokers. Persona 3: Momento Mori = Remember Death. Remembering Death is the main theme for persona 3. P3P: This is the only modern persona game where we actually play a female MC( most people just call hear Femc. She does have an actual name, tho.) Persona 3 Dancing: The opening song has to do with the events more then 10 years prior, when Persona 3 took place, and the fact that the group of Persona 3 is all back together for 1 final night. Persona 4: The theme is finding the truth, hence why they destroy tarot cards to summon there personas; because by by defying there destined fate they can find the REAL truth behind the murders going on in there town( the people hanging from stuff like polls in the openings). Persona 5: Persona 5's main thing is Rebellion. Persona 5: The main characters in the Persona 5 openings are known as the Phantom Thief's. They steal peoples hearts in a cognitive world where desires can become there whole personality. They rip off there Masks which are a part of themselves, to show there true self that the masks hide. Persona 5 Strikers: This game is a direct sequel to Persona 5 and not Persona 5 Royal. Persona 5 Tactica: Has to do heavily with the theme of Persona 5; which is REBELLION. It is also based on certain events from history eample would be the first area in the game is based on Marie Antoinette. PERSONA Q: This games are treated as what-ifs for the characters all being sucked into another world and having to find a way back. Persona Q: Persona Q games are a combo of 2 different of Atlus game series( Persona and Etrian Odyssey) Persona Q/Q2: Spoilers for late game ahead. SPOILERS BEGIN Rei and Zen(Q1) are the main true characters of Q1 as Zen is actually the god Chronos and the final boss of Q1. Hikari(Q2) and Rei are the same in the fact that there respective games they are the real reason the MC's and there teams are in these another worlds. Also for Q1; P3 Yuki MC, and P4 MC Yu remember the events that happened, but not the rest of there teams. For Q2; P5 MC Joker( that's his codename as a thief), Femc( P3P), and Hikari remember the events, but not P3 Yuki MC and P4 Yu MC( including P3, P4, and P5's teams) unlike the first Persona Q game. Each has its own theme, and Persona is the little brother to SMT aka the game that removes the day to day friend thing and only keeps in fighting / fusing demons. Both are great but some RPG fans only enjoy beating things up with good story. Anyway Royal or Reload are great starting points and NO you don't have to play them in order. You do have to play 3/4 for Persona Q And then 3/4/5 for Persona Q 2 since they do give some light spoilers. As for the other side games, you dont have to touch them if you dont want. Strikers is post Persona 5 and acts like a hack and slash. Persona 3 is about dealing with death and learning to find your own answer to life. The shooting is with a fake gun, they explain it in game. Persona 4 is about reaching out to the truth no matter how painful it is. They crush cards to summon their Persona. Persona 5 is about rebeling against society, while stealing things and looking cool. They rip off masks to summon their Persona.

Damn man you really just watch back to back the op of my favourite Anime (MHA) and now of my favourite franchise Persona games . I highly reccomend to listen to the game osts , the soundtrack go crazy , you can try in one video with some song like "Persona 5 rivers in the desert , Persona 5 strikers Daredevil , Persona 3 Reload Color your night , Persona 3 Reload it's going down" . This are some of the most famous but there are like other 90 bangers songs during the games , so maybe try this in one video , and one other time you can do (if you want) more videos with other reccomendation 😀. It's a bit esoteric, but the butterflies represent Philemon, a cosmic being who acts as a neutral guide for humanity to see if they will ascend beyond their nature or fall to it. Philemon grants all the Persona users their powers, either in person or through a servant like Igor of the Velvet Room, even if those who are granted are not necessarily aware of him. Philemon hopes they will use the power correctly to right the world but isn't willing to interfere directly. If you are familiar with Lovecraft's work, one of Philemon's avatars is Nodens. He shows up directly in Persona 1, Persona 2 : Innocent Sin, and Persona 2 : Eternal Punishment. His various forms, servants, and avatars appear in all the other Persona games. In Persona 3, the idea is you need to kill the "self" to release the "shadow" that dwells behind one's ego. To help facilitate this people are given gun facsimiles to simulate a suicide to put the mind in the right place to let out it's shadow. Not all the characters in Persona 3 use this method, as anyone with enough trauma, understanding of their self, or willpower can get away without using such a device. Some even take to using drugs to suppress the "self" and force the "shadow" out but such a method would be risky since you didn't will it yourself and likely wouldn't have the control the other methods use.

I'm about to finish P4 and start P3FES (all on an original PS2) and even if I haven't started P3 once I already know the songs and intros from memory, I just couldn't avoid listening to some of the OST. I'm also playing both games with my little sister, and I can't help but be glad these are the memories I'm making with my sister. Persona 4 gave me a new view of relationships and how time is precious, and I know P3 is gonna destroy me too since its focused on death and life, how we're mortals with limited time and a single chance to live, something very personal and where I struggle a lot

If you play persona, I recommend starting with persona 5 because it is the most streamlined and has many quality of life things in the main gameplay loop. However, persona 3 reload is not a bad entry point either, it is just that it is missing a lot of quality of life features and the main gameplay loop is not as interesting as it is in persona 5 (puzzles and stuff). If you prefer a darker story to start on though, persona 3 reload is probably your pick.

Persona 3 has generally the most "What the hell" openings because of the subject matter of the game. It deals very heavily with death and loss and the effects such an event has on those left behind. It's arguable that the later additions to the plot from expansions and remakes uncut it, but the message of the original game was that people needed to treasure their time more, either with others who will not be around much longer or for themselves as death's hand grows ever closer. The plot works very hard to make you consider and feel that through the course of the game.

All of them have goofy, comedic, or strange moments but 3 really wants you to feel the weight of it's subject matter. How do you cheer up someone who has been told their medical condition is going to result in their death soon? How do you help someone come to terms with the fact close family will not be coming home. How do you make amends before your time is up? If you only had a year to live, how do you find meaning in the remaining moments of your life?

Since you asked, There is an Anime for Persona 3 4 and 5. BUT it is highly advisable to play the games instead for the full experience. You can't control the choices in the anime afterall. Like which ending you'll end up with, or which character you want to befriend stuff like that. But if you want opinion, here ya go: Persona 4 The Animation: I think this is actually really good and covers almost everything(in reason) within the game. Animation is quite nice and the story is nice too. Available in English dub as well if that's your anime preference. Persona 3 the Movies: I think this one is also great. Good animation, Good story. BUT it's a hundred hour game condensed into 4 movies so keep in mind that they omitted some stuff. Meaning, the story will only revolve to the main characters. The NPCs are cut off from the movie. But still, the animation and pacing is great imo. A good watch after playing the games. Unfortunately, it's Japanese only so you might want to skip if you're not into subs. Persona 5 The animation: AVOID AT ALL COST. You'll be missing out a lot if you decide to watch this before playing the game. I assure you, play the game instead. God help yourself. Avoid this like the plague.

Personally, Persona 3 imo is the best of the 3 games excluding 1 and 2 (though these games were very good but Persona became a "main series" games starting at P3 since Persona was originally a spin off series from Shin Megami Tensei) I would've recommended P5R as a starting point for people new to Persona since it's easier to digest the story as well had more modern gameplay compared to like P4G and P3 BUT since P3 came out with a Reloaded, I would recommend P3 Reloaded to anyone new since imo it had the best story and characters and since the game is remade it has a more quality of life to it compared to old P3/FES where example P3 was the only persona game where you cant directly command your party only the portable version had that feature and that feature first came out to Persona 4, so now P3 Reloaded is everything P3 fans asked for and more.

Meanwhile SMT is just raw badass demons vs gods constant action in a post-apocalyptic setting, where every interaction you make in said worlds decides the world you wanna end up reshaping, it challenges many questions involving true law and chaos, the pillars of how society functions. You the MC in these games, are left to decide what is truly fundamentally just. SMT:5V is a great entry to the franchise, it came out this year and is a port with a brand new second storyline of 80-150 hours of content. Though i personally recommend getting into persona first, since SMT is a little hardcore and niché, but it’s ultimately up to you. Check out tracks like “Destruction” (Shiva’s theme) and “Humans, demons and gods” from SMT:V, or the classic B2 from SMT:IV. All are fire asf.

Just to give an idea on what each "modern" Persona game does right. Persona 3 (The shoot themselves) has the best story Persona 4 (My personal favorite and the yellow one with Teddie) has the best characters. Persona 5 (The red and super flashy) has the best overall gameplay. You can play P5R or P3R for the most balanced gameplay to start, and then choose how you wanna go from there! All the games have their issues, but they're very enjoyable overall. And also, Teddie is just..Teddie tbh

But as it is with anime having to condense the base material, and Persona games being 80 to 100+ hours long... the anime is best enjoyed if you have played the game. I know you don't have time to play all the persona game but i do recommend watching Persona 4 animated (not the golden one because i didn't watch P4Golden animated and i can't say what changes. ) They're hilarious especially the Dub version which I actually recommend. You don't have to know other persona game like p1, 2, 3 or 5 because they're mostly stand alone.
