Lulua feels more like Spring, whereas Ryza feels like Summer/Fall in terms of its color palettes and general lightning/contrast. I'm all down for Ryza from what I know. I don't mind Atelier taking risks and pushing for new ideas, and I adore the artstyle so far. As for the story itself, the possibly of a threat interests me, as Atelier hasn't tackled anything like that since Iris back in the mid 00's (looming world-destroying threats), so it interests me to see where they go with that, as well as what secrets the island has to uncover. Just looking at the trailers definitely has my full interest, and I already preordered the limited edition. Most ateliers tend to be trilogies, so I wouldn't be surprised if Ryza is the first of a new trilogy and world to explore. I'm all down for it. If Ryza is just the first of this new world, I really want to see the later entries as well and how they expand this new world and its mysteries.
@JRPGJungle5 жыл бұрын
I agree about the seasonal thing, I wonder if the tie-in of fall colours was intentional :3 And agreed about this potentially being a trilogy, it looks so big already it'd be amazing if they expanded on it :D
@Axel1815 жыл бұрын
@@JRPGJungle GUST in general does a bit of planning ahead when trilogies are involved, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is a new trilogy, with summer/fall as the start on an island and the subsequent sequels being winter and fall. Winter likely being on a mountain/peak region and Spring being something akin to Lulua but with this world's aesthetics and lore.

I'm so excited for this; I'm getting serious 'Atelier Firis' vibes being by the looks of it, it's going open world again. With this new game engine it might lead too Ryza running real well on Switch. Though I'm not unhappy with the Arland ports they could've done a little better, as for Lydie and Suelle there were points where it did drop in frames a fair bit. 'Atelier Lulua' runs like a dream, whenever I boot it up in handheld I say "Wow, how can this game look so good?"

The west seems to mostly make grey, dull games while Japanese games seem to usually be bright and vibrant.
@69mickswagg5 жыл бұрын
That's silly. And not true at all. America makes more games than the rest of the world combined, but we dont make many anime games. But still, plenty of them have plenty of color. I'm playing borderlands 3 right now. Theres destiny. Fortnite. Ori. Destroy all humans. Halo. Far cry. Mk series. Injustice series. Spiderman. God of war series. Jake and dexter games. Odd world games. Ratchet and clank. Spelunker. Minecraft. No mans sky. Sunset overdrive. Spyro. Overwatch. Wow. Gta series. And just on and on. And that's not even touching the indie scene really. And then if you bring in Europe and Canada and the rest of the west into the picture, you're just talking out of your ass. The witcher series. Cyberpunk 2077 coming up. Not anime does not mean not colorful. And not super vibrant colors doesnt mean not as good. One of my favorite games was hollow knight and it's dark as hell.

Not really true. But on the subject, I really wish more JRPG games took a more serious tone to them. Instead they all fall into the same unimaginative anime tropes over and over. People might hate on FFXV for whatever reason but at least it took itself seriously.

It opened up a lot new potential fans to experience this new franchise that otherwise they wouldn’t have. Not sure if ryza will top waifu status as Sophie is personally one of my favorites even tho I have not experienced atelier Sophie but only got a glimpse of what her character trope was in L&S. I’m definitely tempted to get the limited edition for Ryza. Hopefully once this game releases, maybe we’ll get some blue reflection or nights of azure news. Both are underrated for what they are. Really would love to hear either of those Gust IP’s get another installment, especially a blue reflections sequel, hopefully that’ll comes to switch like with Nights of azure 2. but I doubt it, at least it will surely come to PC tho.

I think we might, I certainly wouldn't be against it! Ryza's a little different in her design to other protagonists, so maybe in this trilogy (and they've done Escha and Logy, which I haven't played, but maybe there's a chance) :) We'll see, I definitely wouldn't mind it though! And as for the time limit, I'm pretty sure the livestream last night and everything else hasn't mentioned it (I could be wrong). But I would be very surprised if they went back to the time limit.
