For some reason, Jrue left the Bucks and they are no longer advancing in the playoffs... And Celtics are being very consistent. Apparently D is undervalued.

he's in the final stages of his career and he is commanding a pretty hefty salary. His extension is over $30M per season. That's a lot of money for a guy aged 33 that really isn't a big time star on BOTH ends. I like Jrue, I think he's a good player, but I don't think he's worth that kind of money. His contract alone is gonna require the Celtics to make changes considering Tatum WILL GET max money after this season. His, Brown's, and Holiday's contracts will hamstring this team unless someone is traded. If they don't win rings, they're stuck, and as I said, Jrue has a huge contract for his age. It will be difficult to move him. He'll be 37 when that contract expires btw. Unless the Celtics wake up one day and decide Brown and Tatum can be traded, which I doubt, Jrue's contract isn't going to age very well for them. His play on the defensive end isn't undervalued, his age and the fact father time can hit at a moments notice is what was taken into consideration here.

However, the guy has been very consistent defensively over the years, and he deserves such contract for the time being. He's been delivering what other guys that earn the same or more have been unable too, and they only care about personal stats and marketing, and choke when it matters the most. If Jrue continues to take care of himself like he has been doing, there is no reason for him to stop being consistent defensively in the upcoming years and he will make worth every penny.
