The A-137-2 is not a wave folder for anyone watching! It splits the signal into 4 copies and those copies phases are moveable, making a detune/supersaw effect if lfos are run into the CV. A-137-1 is the doepfer wave folder. Loving that chopping kinky though!

From the doepfer page: "In contrast to the A-137-1 Wavemultiplier I the A-137-2 generates four phase-shifted copies of a VCO signal applied to the audio input. The four shifted signals are added to the original signal to obtain a fat sound similar to five independent VCOs. The phase shifting is made by a simple circuit that works only for sloped signals like sawtooth, triangle or sine, but not for rectangles or pulses." I think you mixed up something here. The A-137-2 is a supersawish wavemultiplier. The A-137-1 is the wavefolder. Otherwise a good video idea. But with a not so busy melody the comparison would have been easier.

love to see that metasonix in action. thanks.

The A-136 has a pre-amplifier built in that distorts with signals over 7v, which is why you are getting so many clipped square waves with it - www.doepfer.de/a136.htm You can mod it to remove the pre-amp - www.doepfer.de/DIY/a100_diy.htm#A136%20Modification or use and attenuator before going in to the A-136 or use it after a filter to get a nice distortion.

So... which wavefolder (from all two parts) is your favourite?
@JohnSchussler4 жыл бұрын
Don't know about favorite, but top of the pile are probably the Ultrafold, the Serge Wave Multipliers, and the Audio Damage Shapes (the last one isn't available anymore, though, which is unfortunate).

Thank you for the comparison. Off-topic question: where did you buy these beautiful red knobs?

@@JohnSchussler What's the fit like? Are they drop in compatible, or do you need to put tape around the shaft to tighten it? Are the shafts even D shaped to accept the screw from the Rogan knob? Thanks for the words! Really love this look and inspired to do it to my Doepfer modules!
@JohnSchussler9 ай бұрын
@@matthewvwise They work on either round or D shaft, they have a lock screw that tightens to whatever kind of pot you're putting it on.
