@@0tispunkm3y3r I think it was mentioned that they used their phones and FaceTime as an ad hoc baby monitor? Which - credit where it's due - is a clever hack. But I don't think I could ever implement that on a cruise ship, because I know that young kids are inherently curious and completely unaware of their own mortality. Thank goodness I have mopey teenagers now??

If this couple is making that much money, there is no reason why they couldn’t have gotten on nanny brought her along and utilized her time when they wanted alone time, or content time. They used extremely poor judgment because you never leave your kids at any age alone. As a parent you are there to be a responsible for your children’s lives every minute of the day. Yes, they had a baby monitor, but that is not taking care of your children. That’s being selfish as a couple and thinking of themselves rather than thinking of their children. Nothing stop them from putting those sleeping children in a stroller and bring them to dinner. Thank you J!

UNFORGIVABLE PARENTING. If the vlogger parents were up front that they did that (not sure from Jay's video), then I suspect they WILL get a call from DYFS when they get back. I'm not looking it up now, but I read most EULAs, and I think the cruise lines say you are always responsible for your kids. In the least, they should be banned from this cruise line. Forever. You can enjoy many things with children on vacation, but sometimes children are NOT permitted in some places which you want to enjoy. So it is ok to leave a child with another responsible adult to go to a casino or dancing. (or scuba diving, or sky diving.) Children are not nuisance. You literally can’t take them everywhere.

Child neglect you can't leave an infant and toddler alone anywhere. Family vloggers are predominantly gross. Add in the fact cruises have all sorts of child care and it's ridiculous. If it’s a busy time it could take a while for the elevator. Stairs are quicker but not practical if you’re going more than a floor or two. It also depends on where your cabin is. If it’s midship, then 4-6 mins sounds about right. It’s it’s right at the front of back? Maybe more like 10-12. Then it also depends on your location in relation to your cabin. Saying that you can make it back in under 5 mins is a gross generalisation that really hammers home just how unsafe it is to leave kids unattended.

Matt and Abby put out an apology video and are trying to say that this is a misunderstanding and that someone was in the room. Here’s the thing, they are either lying and trying to cover up or rage baiting for views. Abby’s original post made it clear she was putting out some great mom hack for watching the kids while enjoying dinner. There would be no reason to post that post if someone was watching them, because the hack would then be getting a babysitter. The one positive thing here is the awareness this is brining to the dangers and exploitation of family vloggers

I do not believe children that age should be left alone The monitor was an attempt to be responsible but it was not acceptable in my point of view. If you were home, you would not leave your children without a sitter to go to dinner. Why did they think it was ok on a ship full of strangers?

I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina A. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Absolutely wrong I cannot see how this is good in anyway. I couldn’t even imagine trying to get back to my room if I saw something on camera- or if an emergency happened on board and needed to get back. They are very young parents with young brains making absolutely poor decisions that sadly could have the worst possible outcome, just grateful nothing happened to either of their babies. 🙏

A child can pay away in 60 seconds…8 minutes is a long time if the child falls off the bed and is bleeding, if the child is choking, if the toddler opened the door and walked out, if the toddler opened the bathroom and fell in the toilet…these are things that happen to babies and toddlers, it why you do not leave them alone.

By far, you've presented the best coverage of this story stating facts about what could happen in an emergency onboard a cruise ship, such as the rule in regard to not having the ability to return to your cabin to retrieve something during an emergency due to fire or evacuation. Even stating the written rule that having baby monitors onboard being prohibited, was very helpful for many who might not know that rule. You made it clear, this video was more about education added to the fact, what they did was a VERY BAD idea.

They brought the monitors in advance. They planned it long in advance. They had many proper options to take care of the kids. For so called a parenting couple The reality is, that it's child abuse!!! I'm sure they've done this before on other cruises or hotels.

I think it’s insane to leave babies alone in a room alone,especially since other ppl have access to this room. Not only could they have gotten yet alone they could have gotten kidnapped or something else. They don’t care about those kids because if they did they would not have been so cheap as to not pay a sitter. Kids have died this way many of time being alone like this.

That's what most parents do they? bring their teenagers with them. Give them their room key and tell them they'll see them in seven days. Let the kids run rampant on the ship, disturb the other guess, run up and down the hall day an night, banging on other people's doors all night, late hours and the cruise lines do nothing about it. That's not right, There your kids, you bring them, you watch them

I blame the cruise ships for allowing children under age 6 on cruises. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen. At age 6, children can tell you that’s something is wrong, right, etc. They have curiosity and can take an interest in being on a cruise. The only people enjoying younger children on cruise ships are the parents, and it never looks like “joy.” It’s bad enough that adults board these ships and bring their poor habits and behaviors. That you have Gen Z, largely raised with a lack discretion and lax judgment (If I can do it, then I should do it!), the cruise industry will unfortunately have to have something horrific happen, before they realize that children under 6 should not be on ships.
@andreawilson2254

There are more issues, incidents and/ or accidents on board cruise ships with adults than there are with children. This incident ( which is a terrible lack in judgment) is not or should not be common practice. Most cruise lines provide amazing child care with many safety measures in place. This type of thing is against cruise lines rules because of the safety concerns. It’s not a child safety issue due to cruising but a parenting issue. Some parents like myself, enjoy cruising with our children and they are far from miserable. I don’t have kids six or under anymore but even then it was my kids favorite next to Paris and Universal Studios. There are entire cruise lines dedicated to children but you don’t think they enjoy it. You sound like a person who would prefer to not cruise with young kids, and that’s fine. There are cruise lines for adults only. I understand that this is your opinion and I respect that and this is mine. Just offering a different perspective. Enjoy your day.

Things can happen so quickly and unexpectedly when it comes to our children. Never leave them alone even for a second! As a parent we are responsible for their welfare. There were other things they could of done to make sure their children were safe. Very selfish and irresponsible behavior. They have developed a false sense of security which can lead to danger. My two cents.

My husband and I took our children on a 7-day Caribbean cruise when the sons were 11 and 14 years old. My 15-year old refused to leave the cabin for the most part. The 11 year old was making friends with crew members and other kids, and I lost track of him for about 45 minutes (found him playing Marco Polo in the pool was terrified, searching different decks with crew helping). He was having his best 11-year old life. My true feeling is that I can't recommend cruising with kids unless it is a kid-oriented cruise.

As others have said, the parents’ actions are totally unacceptable and can’t be excused. If they left the kids alone to buy a souvenir for 10 min that is one thing, but a 2 hour romantic dinner, likely with alcohol? Unbelievably poor judgment. These family vloggers think they can have it all and in fact are entitled to it. Well I’m sorry but having kids means compromising other stuff, and thinking about their best interests above your own desires. Or just get childcare like a responsible person would do.

HI There, I've seen others report on this as well. I'm unsure why anyone would agree that this was something that was okay to do? It is 100% unacceptable. My thought is, glad that nothing went wrong for the children's sake. But, imagine if they had been abducted, they had gotten hurt etc., then we would all say, "who would have done this, how could this happen? etc etc" It would have truly been a huge tragedy and they would be completely to blame....I also remind people of the Madeleine McCann abduction in Portugal. There is just so many things wrong with this situation, that there is no way to spin this into something that is okay or tolerated.
