I saw one of these at my local T-Mobile today while switching my phone service to them. And I must say I was impressed with how amazing the display looked in person. I'll definitely be getting this soon. Almost looked exactly like the Apple watch 3 I had. I'd say considering this is a first attempt Google did a great job on the Google Watch. For my usage, I'll be turning off the always on display and the tilt to wake as both drain battery life. All I want is a smartwatch that tracks my steps and is a watch to tell time with. Plus it'll go nicely with my Pixel 7.

I've had my pixel watch for two days and love it. They've nailed so much of the OS & Navigation.. little touches here and there.. very polished. Only anxiety I have is when I think about accidentally smashing it into something or scratching it. I use AOD when awake, Bed Mode when asleep. It's a joy to browse notifications from any app on my phone. Looks are incredible.

@@drthirteen5786 the battery life is not great but it's also not as bad as people are making it out to be. Pretty sure with my usage it will be a once a day (before bed) charging. So far I've been charging it in the morning during shower

I found step count very inaccurate. It was counting steps when i was driving 🤦🏻‍♀️ i returned it. Plus having to press the big button to get to the apps instead of swiping is annoying as the button has to be preseed pretty firmly. I find Galaxy watch 4 more accurate for steps and easier to navigate.

@@MissSmurfey it's definitely not for everyone.. and really depends on what you need. I haven't noticed the inaccuracies in the step counter but that's not something that matters alot to me. Mostly I use it as a way to get notifications from my pocketed phone, track sleep (which I never did with my gear 3) and easily tell the time. I found it to do these functions fantastical and that it's easy to use. I don't miss the physical bezzel control of the s3 as the navigation is intuitive and snappy. This is definitely a watch that is going to be great for some users and lacking for others.

I put „display always on“ off for the night and charge during breakfast time, and have no issue at all with the battery. Love this gadget but your mileage may vary and this is ok.

Nice review! Since getting my Pixel watch I can't go back to my galaxy watch 5, which is still a nice device. One addition...there is some confusion around Fitbit premium. I get the same metrics from Fitbit free version that I do from Samsung health. Premium adds some advanced sleep tracking that gives you sleep insights, viewable workouts similar to Apple health and a few other features. Without premium you are getting the same standard fitness features as every other smart watch.

I love mine, it's only been a few days with it and after turning off a bunch of notifications and the always on display. The battery has been great with the tap/touch option for the screen to turn on. I'm not one to use this for work outs or sleep tracking so the battery life has been amazing. I'm very happy with this watch

I think you neglected to cover a bunch of topics. I have one of the earliest Galaxy Watches. It is ok. It shows me when I get a text. I can, hear a phone call on it. Not great. Enough to tell the person I am driving and will call them back. Samsung and Google do not play well together. If I start the timer on my Pixel 6 Pro, the watch only tells me the timer is on. Not the time of the timer itself. This is annoying. How does the Pixel watch integrate with the Wear app? How many watch faces are there? Practical stuff. Thanks. (also, you can get adapters for other watch bands to fit on the Pixel watch now)

I'm a guy and I really like the size on my wrist; I never really been into big watches. The bezel in person is not a big deal - my only concern is the display. Getting this thing scratched or cracked has me worried since I'm a bit clumsy. Might have to pick up a watch case / screen protector.

I love my watch. I had it for 2 months now and I love it. The battery last for 2 days with all my activities, walk and work, getting phone calls and messages. I highly recommend this watch. The size is perfect especially for women.

I just got the galaxy 5 watch pro after considering the pixel watch . But the size, battery, Even removing the watch bands was a dealbreaker. Plus got $190 trade in deal for the galaxy watch 3 from Samsung

Thanks for your neat review. Regarding battery life I have to say I think it's not that bad. I charge it before bedtime, track 2 hours of bike riding each day (commute) and have 45% left when I get home in the evening. That's with tap to wake. What I don't like is that it charges only with the original 30$ charging puck and not on the back of my Pixel 7.

Don't like or want Fitbit? Disable it (since you can't uninstall it, disabling it will then not display on your watch) and use Google FIT on your pixel watch. You can even run both.

In my opinion there is no need to go Premium and I don't miss anything. You get stats, automatic tracking, heart rate zones, sleep tracking with sleep zones... well all the functions you expect are there.

First off get the facts right about the extra features you received from Fitbit premium also if I'm not mistaken for Apple Fitness+ is a monthly charge for extra features. Second if you have large wrist I agree 41mm might be to small and yes Google should have made two sizes . Third the integration with Fitbit works fine with Wear OS . Just like Apple if you have a Google Pixel phone the watch works seamlessly together. Fourth the main thing with battery life on any watch or phone is you have to make adjustments to your settings to get the most out of your battery . For instance Always on display I used only during night time no need for during the day. Notifications do you really need to get notifications from every app you have installed, turn off what you don't need. My Pixel watch lasts me the whole day and during sleep. Basically go through your settings and read . Every setting tells you their purpose .

I liked the design but it’s tiny. I hated having to use Fitbit and it’s interface couldn’t take me from my Apple Watch. I liked some of the watch faces but it felt like a cheap toy compared. Probably why they’re giving them away

Basically what we're in now is Beta. They've done what they think is the base level for what they're going to be. Pixel Watch 2 will be where all the reviews, feedback, flaws etc will be addressed and that perception of progress will mean it will sell better and allow for it to be financially feasible to do more than one size etc. They made a smart call in not immediately trying to meet the Apple Watch head on and instead get that foundation right in one model before striking upwards.

I don't understand how one can be "excited" about a watch with half the features and half the battery life of a GW4 classic lol. This watch won't even be able to compete with "itself"/fitbits. Then you have the hideous, extremely feminine design that's not at all unisex. I mean, it looks like my grandmothers pebble watch from the 60s or one of those macaroon sweets, it has no place on a thick or masculine wrist, looks like sht.

Google took a big L with this. two things: battery life ... really guys? you guys made an In house watch , with your own Android software ..and Fitbit but won't give Fitbit premium for your pixel users ? unbelievable..Google you suck tbh. theh need to bring together the BEST ecosystem. .talking top tier or close to top tier specs. tensor chip power with superb optimization and also the the top tier buds and what not. Google should be able to fix virtually everything with software. idk why they struggle. they barely sell that many phones.
